Okay, I searched this and just got old news topics about how China's dealing with their problems, sorry if this has been done before and locked...

My name is Jenny Rolton, and I am addicted to the internet. Seriously.

So, does anyone else think they are addicted to the internet? If you are, do you want to change or are you happy with it? And can anyone offer advice to those of us who are addicted and want to change?

My name is Matt Fallon and I'm addicted to the internet.

I'm not ashamed of it. Thats like saying I'm addicted to information, music, and countless hours of entertainment all at my fingertips.

Go out and chop some meat. Or find a lesser addiction. You have to replace an addiction with another one. Or stop moaning and get on with your life. Say to yourself 'you dont need it' Man up.

If you really want I could give you the rant about how it's not that simple... but I'm sure you don't want to be bored with that.

All I ever seem to do is spend time on the internet, but in my defense, I don't have a car and I live in the sticks.

I think I spend too much time on the internet, but that's mainly because it's the summer.
After tomorrow, that will all change.

Go fot it. Tell me your woes. The fact that you can see you have a problem is a step in the right direction.

Well, judging by the fact that my computer says I'm offline right now. I am the internet!

Sorry. I probably addicted to a point, although I'll happily go do something else if the internet is boring me, I'm not going to enjoy it in the same sense an alcoholic enjoys alcohol.

Basically, the only friends I have are online. So, if I leave the internet, I have no friends and go back to the loner I was before. However, I can't find a way of cutting down on my internet use, because I have no one controlling it, I can go on as much as I like and I have no job or school to worry about.

Has it been going on like this for awhile? You sound old enough to work, why dont you get a shitty job and use it as a stepping stone to a better job. Work mates are easy to make. When i was younger i was always on the internet but i grew out of it, i dont know if its just something people go through. I have internet friends also going back 6 years and i consider them friends. We have met up and gone on the piss together and they are normal enough... Well some of them... Friends are friends. Get a G.O.B. Save money, go travel for a year. It rocks and it is that easy.

Yeah, for starters to "man up" she would first have to grow a penis... Not a easy task I can imagine.
I did it once, to an acceptable standard.

OT: I am defiantly addicted to the internet, I lost it when I moved out for about a month and spent a stupid amount of time at an internet café waiting to get a dial tone.

Most of my games are multiplayer based, and I'm addicted to them, and then the social aspect of talking to everyone stupidly easily all the time is hard to get taken away from. Not to mention missing out on gossipy news/partys.

Too much of my life is dependant on the internet, not sure if I'm unhappy with that though...

Nope, no jobs around here sadly. I would have to travel, and then that costs so it's whether you earn that much if you take travel into account.

i'm not sure. i'm not truly addicted to the internet, i'm just truly bored without it. i've read most of the interesting books i have, often twice, i'm not great at talking to people in real life and besides the friends i do have are on the internet most of the time as well, and i cant really get a job due to my isolation.

i suppose i could qualify as addicted, i'm aware i spend way to much time on it, i just cant see spending a lot of time on the internet as a bad thing.
