Firefox keeps on crashing, it started happening after I put in my new mboard and memory. It just happens, what seems like, randomly although it just crashed and then crashed almost after restarting it, it does not happen too frequently but it is irritating when it does.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Mboard: asus m4a88td-m evo usb3
Memory: 8 GB of this, well I think its this
Graphics Card: Yeah I need to get a new one at some point
For anything else that may be helpful have a look at my dxdiag.

Any help would be great because this has been happening for months now.

What I've tried so far;
A new install of windows, trying google chrome aswell as firefox and installing network drivers

Does it respond for a minute and then just suddenly stop?

Because, if that's the case, I had the same issue on my laptop. Try deleting your cookies.

It works but it just stops every now and then

Hmm the only thing I can think of is that possible the Ram is broken or not installed properly.

Another options might be a virus, but that is unlikely considered you reinstalled Windows.

For the ram: Go to the start menu, right click "My Computer" and ensure that it has all 8GB of ram listed. If they are then that probably isn't the problem.

Best of Luck,

Is it only Firefox that causes the problem? try running (Dare I say it?) IE8/9 for whatever you were doing and see if it crashes. If it is Firefox, uninstall it and re-install and see how that goes. Thats how I solved 90% of my FF problems.

I got a similar problem, the difference being that my browser crashes 80% of the time I visit the Escapist, for me it started when I updated Ubunutu, since then, Firefox constantly crashes on this site and this site only.

FireFox is infamous with the crashes because of plug-in-container...

Perform basic computer maintenance;
Your computer stores cookies and temporary internet files(Cache) which does slow down the performance of the browser however does save bandwidth.

To remove these files in Firefox:
Go into Tools>Clear Recent History
select "Everything" in the "time range to clear" in combo-box then select/tick "browsing & download history","Cache" and "cookies" then "ok". This will improve performance to a degree.
