I've seen a lot of douche-bagary on the internet, and it always ends the same(mod sweeps in and suspends or deletes the poster's account).Has there ever been a time when ignoring the person wasn't the right action?Did anyone ever defeat one of these morons with their own logic?Seriously I've never seen this happen! So the reason I'm making this thread is to hear your stories on a win against..well...I hate the term,but...trolls.Sure this thread will most likely turn out fruitless but I would still like to try.So if you have a story of an ordinary poster turned troll slayer,I'd like to read it.

Of coarse there is always the chance that this has never happened and that is why mods exist...share your thoughts.

It isn't possible, and this is one of many reasons for why we have Mods.

A troll could be completely and utterly humiliated in an argument but would react as if they were not. Only by having a Mod suspend or ban them will you get rid of them.

The banhammer is the only known cure for the disease known as "Imanassholeism" so good luck finding stories.

Message a mod.

This thread is a failure, sorry.
Too much work...they'll delete it eventually.

In better news I got a better idea for a thread witch will(hopefully)have a topic that you can respond too.

I find the best coarse of action is to agree on a common ground, and find a point that ascerts your opinion that either party can stomach. Turns it into a conversation, rather than a slander contest. After that the person turns down the defences, giving you a better chance to use logic and knowledge to express your point of view.

Doesn't always work...but if you understand the entirety of the conversation, and control it by grasping what the individual is really saying, communicating this, then follow with what you disagree on (in a calm manner, respectful manner), you can turn the troll back into a human being.
