What little things piss you off on the internet?

For me, it is when for Some Reason people will Capitalize either random words Or All of their Words while Typing on an Internet Forum.

I mean, just ignoring grammar is one thing, but it takes a special kind of stupid/disregard/whatever to actually take the extra time to do all the extra work.

I find myself Capitalising words like "Capitalising" all the time. It's because I touch-type, and the Caps-Lock is just under my left little finger, so I can tap it at any given moment

I Capitalise titles like "Call of Duty Modern Warfare" and occasionally, when in doubt, I Capitalise other things.

OT: When people get the apostraphe and the plural mixed up. I can deal with spelling errors and other stuff, I'm no Nazi, but it's the "I have two dog's" that irks me

That depends what you're giving an opinion on though.

OT: "SEARCH BAR!!!!!" then they either:

a) Use an entire post to talk about the search bar, and then all they've done is bump the topic

or

b) Answer the topic anyway - why f*cking complain and then discuss the topic?!

The answer is for them to just shut up; they're far more annoying than repeat threads.

30 second adverts before a video, I think Thatguywiththeglasses.com is a great website, but 30 second adverts before each and every damn video is just annoying.

an opinion can never be right or wrong it is neither fact or fiction it somthing that sombody see's somthing as for instance if somone says 'I like MW2' they arn't wrong it just the way they see things.

I loathe misuse of they're, their and there or your and you're. I'm not a grammar nazi. I'm not going to point it out. But I do notice, and I do judge you when you make those mistakes. Why? Because anyone who has ever gone through any kind of English class in school knows that there is a difference. Those folks may not remember which to use, but I guarantee they have a moment of "Am I spelling that right?" But rather than look it up and learn it for future use they just default to there and your. It's pure laziness, and it does impact my respect for the person who does it. (Example: My boss.)

I agree totally. Zero Punctuation does this. I LOVE Zero Punctuation, and sitting through Slim Jim commercials (which are nowhere near as funny) really irks me. I don't actually mind the ads entirely, I just wish they kept with the tone of the content.

Yes, that's why it depends on what you're giving an opinion on. You can never be wrong in saying you like something because it's about you, you know what you like, etc. etc. It's subjective.

If I formed an opinion based on a fact though, and said fact turns out to be wrong then my opinion is wrong.

Well, maybe not "wrong" - but certainly invalid.

1) I am a Grammar (and Spelling) Nazi.

2) Caps Lock burns my eyes every time someone uses it.

3) Love/Hate threads, versus threads, threads where it's impossible to give a valid, just opinion without getting yelled at for being a moron, flamers, trolls, flaming trolls... the list goes on.

4) Facebook. I don't use it, Twitter, or anything like them because I'm daring to stand out from the crowd. That and they just don't appeal to me.

5) People 12 and under who have microphones and use them in games... these people should have surgery to render them literally speechless.

6) People 12 and under who play games that have an R16 rating or higher. Why do their parents buy games for them if they're clearly under the age restriction?

I enjoyed Twitter when it first began, but dumped it about 6 months ago. It was interesting when the content was fresh and the content generators were interesting. But when every mom-and-pop started using it I decided I was done. It's as bad as My Space now.

I generally agree with you on the under 12 set. However, the other day I was playing Bad Company 2 and there was an under 12 (likely 9-10) kid playing on my squad, and he was cursing and trash talking, and it was so funny coming from that tiny voice that I literally had to cover my mouth so he couldn't hear my laughing. I got a very low score that round because I was so busy tuning in to what he had to say. I even shared my headset with my husband so he could hear. It was awesome.

@Caenis: I don't usually encounter under-10s in Team Fortress 2 (my FPS of choice) but I've met them before. I usually mute them or ask an admin to boot them. As long as I can headshot them from across the map without them screaming at me, I'm happy.

Plus I always outsmart them if they try to trash-talk me. It's fun to listen to them trying to counter my perfectly valid points.

My biggest annoyance with that age group is the dependency. I'll admit I have a soft heart for someone seeking help. I'll be the first person to offer a noob assistance in learning the ropes. Some folks will take that assistance and run with it, while some will then decide they want my help with every little thing. I'm happy to help noobs of all ages get started, but I have no desire to babysit for every minute they play the game. I've blocked a couple kids when they simply got too clingy. They were perfectly polite. They just didn't want to do it by themselves.

Emails: I don't know why but it seems when people read emails they lose the capacity to understand the English language and comprehension in general. If an e-mail goes over a few sentences people seem to start skimming and just ignore content. I don't know why but I either ask questions that never get responded to or if I'm writing something like oh hey how's you're week been I did this, this, and this and they proceed to ask me if I did X thing that I just mentioned.
And then there are the extremes of people who use email. People who expect you to respond instantly to emails even though its like 4 am. Or those who bother to give you an e-mail as a way to contact them but only check it like once a week at best.

Yeah, see, stuff like that is good. Capitalizing proper nouns and such is fine; that's what the shift key is for, after all. It's when people start doing it to random verbs or prepositions or whatever in the middle of a sentence that it gets annoying.

Sign me up for the anti facebook thing too, as I signed up but don't really use it, and I find myself on a constant guilt trip, I really don't want to get involved with it, but I have a ton of people who've sent me friend requests, and people asking me to sign petitions for good causes, or to join groups for charities, and not joining in makes me feel like they're going to look at my inaction and think 'uncaring bastard'.

Which at least may save me dealing with any future stuff from them I guess.

Strange thing is I don't mind the concept, but it's just too much, signing in to dozens of requests, whereas here I might get one or two things in my inbox directly relating to things I did.

I hate the console wars and the PC - v - Mac arguments. Seriously, get the frack over it already. It's about as interesting as arguing about whether you prefer MySpace or Facebook!

Trolls, elitist fools who think they're right because they've been a member of something longer.

This kinda goes in with trolls, but people that start up a seemingly harmless discussion, but then refuse to accept an opinion if it differs from their own, coming up with increasingly long-winded and pointless arguments to support their thoughts.
