Yes, there are also people who know correct grammar such as the difference between there and their. Not sure if you read a thing of my post, but the TV channels that air it don't pirate it. Seriously, don't quote out of context and present a post that looks like it was written by a 12 year old.

Censorship and outlawing of the Porn industry would be the worst possible choice. Look at what happened when some bloody Moral Guardians got liquor banned in Chicago; practically gave birth to Mafia as we know them now.

It is the same with gambling and prostitution and frankly should be the same with drugs. You will never stop people getting what the want one way or another: if you make the above things legal, then you get government regulation. That means standards of health, production, treatment of employees and anything else you care to name.

Best part, takes the power right out of the criminals' hands. No sane mane is gonna go see a guy at a place for some weed when he can buy a weight bag of it from a tobacconist, with the added bonus that it isn't laced with bad chemicals or other drugs. As for prostitution, I agree with George Carlin "How can it be illegal to sell something you can give away with no penalty?". Its a pointless exercise.

You are quite right that it is unequal in the treatment. Maybe people don't care about the threat of the porn industry dying, the way they do with the music, film and game industries. Maybe lots of people use porn but have no love for the porn industry, so have no moral qualms about taking their product. A bit like, say stealing drugs. Ie they are are making something 'immoral' so it is not immoral to steal it...

One quick poser. If pirating from the porn industry damages that industry are people who pirate ch!ld pr0n therefore good for damaging that industry? Just saying...

The thought of sailing up to a porn studio on a pirate ship and pillaging it for its porn makes me giggle.
YO HO! Let us become become the most feared masters of the sea that the porn industry has ever witnessed!

(This be a joke arghh! I be in no way advocating the pirating of pornography because as we all know that be frowned upon by those scurvy dogs that sail on the HMS Moderator)

Har har har, thar be a wise one lad.

We don't care about porn and pirates because nobody likes to admit they use it. I guess the younger are an exception cuz me and my friends (males and females) talk about it all the time, usually in jokes.

well it's hard to raise fuss over a morally questionable act when it's inflicted on a industry that some find morally questionable

Thats a very good point. Free porn is generally accepted as the norm. I can honestly say I've never heard some link 'piracy' and 'pornography'. The two just don't work in my mind.

Also, slight side note, if there was a sudden change in laws and such, making free porn illegal, Anonymous would kick up a right stink. Look at how they reacted to attempts to restrict pirated music: how the hell would they deal with an attempt to censor pornography?!?!?

The world brought to it's knees by the overpowering craving for fappable material...

17 and male here. I think it's an interesting stereotype that absolutely everyone in my demographic likes porn. I don't watch pornographic movies, but whenever I tell that to someone they say something like, "You don't have to lie about it."

Millions of people would disagree with you there. :p They enjoy watching porn.

And why would porn stars (or directors/cameramen/editors, etc), or prostitutes for that matter, not deserve any sympathy? There's a million reasons for joining either profession. Ranging from having little other choice if you don't want to be on the dole, to simply making your job out of your hobby (yes, there are people who willingly join the porn or prostitution industry), and probably lots of reasons in between.

And why would humanity be better off without any visual aid to ease the act of masturbation?

Because it's hard to have a long and satisfying discussion about porn that gives any kind of release.

Ahem. Also, no one pays for porn, unless they don't know what a Webcam is or are in the Eighties.

Actually the porn industry is pretty vocal about piracy but I guess you have to move in the right circles to really pay any attention to it. A lot of people watch porn but how many actually take the time to see how the industry is doing as a whole and see what the companys are getting up to behind the scenes.

Second, do you really want to be caught buying it?
How about being caught "stealing" it?

I generally bring up porn, and the disparity between patent law and copyright in every piracy thread I can be bothered reading.

As hypocritical as it may be, I simply don't care about the porn industry. I do care about games, movies, music um... other stuff that could be pirated that I can't think of right now, so I don't pirate that stuff.

I also don't even download porn / barely use it as is.

I think that the porn industry as a whole makes so many billions of dollars per year that they don't care enough about internet piracy to actively pursue legal action.

False on both accounts. The "family standards" of Betamax meant not just porn, but also many other videos were left out.

Similarly, the earliest HD support in porn was HD DVD. People were using the same "historical fact" you are to declare HD-DVD the winner....And we all know how that turned out.

More accurately, Disney and Warner Bros decided the fate of the HD war.

HUGE impact, not sole decision maker. There was a notable delay in upgrading from dvd to HD format as there was concern for porn not being as appealing since we would now be seeing more flaws in the skin.

I honestly don`t care about the so called 'porn industry' ,you can wank off to a damn picture if you need to. I wonder how are they even making money these days, all you need to do is type one word into a search bar and you can find anything you ever dreamed of, for free. Only reasonable explanation i can think of: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/loadingreadyrun/2970-Columbus-of-the-Internet
