To be honest, the only reason reason why I am putting this up is because I cannot focus on anything else with it inside my head. I need to get it out.

If you haven;t be around here lately, well theres a thread talking about Jim Sterling's review or mario kart 7, a lot of poster are made because he gave the game a low score, a 5, which is for certain people, but is actually an average score, but let me get to my point, its his opinion, why do you care about his opinion, if you love the gamwe buy it and play, why bother typing a rage fueled post that will be forgotten within 5 minutes?

If let me state these facts about myself: I love halo, I am a brony, I like Deus Ex HR, I love warhammer 40k, I dislike cod, I dislike sports, I love The star wars movies, all of them, except for the animated one, I say crazy stuff from time to time because I like to, I am ok with homos be married to homos, I just like what I like, love what I love, I dislike was I dislike, and is ok with what I am ok with.

Thats what everyone else should be like, ok to state what they like, dislike, hate, etc.

Why should you be worried if someone else likes what you don't, or dislikes what you love? its their opinion, not yours, enjoy what you like to do, don't let someone's opinion spoil your fun, just do what you want to and let them do the same to what they want to do.

Don't redicule someone for what they like, and ingore it when someone redicules what you like, just enjoy what you like.

Why must we fight? Why must we argue over something as pointless as to which thing is better? Why must we not get along?

Just to be clear, a 5 on Destructoid's rating system is "mediocre".

OT: They just don't like the review, and can't "Deal wit' it".

Why must we fight? Why must we argue over something as pointless as to which thing is better? Why must we not get along?

Because disagreement is the spice of life. What we should avoid, is bitterness and hate arising from disagreements as about things as trivial as review scores. But disagreement alone is perfectly acceptable, and should be desired.

Reviews are other people's opinions, which is why it always pays to find a site or reviewer that seems to share your feelings and thoughts to use as a benchmark and ignore the rest. "General reviews" are pointless because the chance of them having the same interests, nit-picks and general concerns as you (unless something is universally terrible) is unlikely.

Yes, you're trying to make a point, just like how all of the people who complained about Jim were trying to make a point. They were trying to make the point that his review was wrong, or unfair, or some such thing (actually I haven't even read the thread, but I assume that's what they were doing). You are trying to make the point that that point is stupid. I am trying to make the point that your point about their point being stupid is stupid. Yes that does make sense, I think.

Why are we all doing this? Well I'm doing it because it entertains me, in some small way. I can only assume that's why everyone else is too.

But the point I'm trying to make is that what you are doing is in no way different to what they are doing, so it is hypocritical to complain about them.
