OK, I have an interview in 12 hours time. I am being sent to it through a programme to find employment. This I don't mind. I am extremely willing to do a placement for a few weeks if it means that there is a possiblity of a job. Anyway, the point is this, As since I was told on friday that i had an interview, I have tried to find out some information about the company in preparation to the interview. The company website is extremely vague in their description of what they actually do. I have noticed alot of little buzz words but no actual explanation of job details or project details. It simply says, that they are a network that provides consultancy support and that they have "presences" in central government; local government; public agencies.
(what does that even mean?... the dark side of the force... what?) And consultancy support on what?
Anyway I rang the employment office and spoke to the girl who set up the interview to ask whether she could shed any light on what they do and her response was this.
"Well they are a new company to me, I don't know what they do, Just read their website and that should be enough." then she said "maybe you could compliment them on their fantastic, informing and professional website"
..................... what??? are you serious? Professional and informing.And no she was not being sarcastic, she was totally serious. Maybe I'm over-reacting but it just seems a weird, and there is no other information on this company what-so-ever on the internet. What the hell am I letting myself in for. I kinda feel like I could go missing during the interview.
Anyway so my question is this. What would you guys do? Do you think its weird or just me and my imagination? Or would you think it's a little dodgy too? What do you think they do?
