Did you think the warp drives of Star Trek were an impossibility? Think again. Dr. Richard Obousy, a theoretical physicist known for his postulations on this form of faster-than-light travel, has put together a working theoretical model for a warpship. While it would require an understanding of 'dark matter' and an amount of power that's difficult to comprehend being generated by modern sources, it's heartening to think that faster-than-light travel might be more possible than previously stated.

Don't believe me? Check out the warpship here [http://dsc.discovery.com/space/slideshows/warpship/].

yeah, we already have ftl capable ships. They use hyperdrive technology to travel through subspace. We took the technology from the aliens and now have a fairly decent sized fleet killing other aliens for us. Lousy aliens

Wait...so this scientist is basing his theory of FTL travel on something that we know very little about, i.e. anti-matter.

I am all for FTL travel, and I am sure Einstein's theory will eventually be proven to not be the end all of physics, in a similar way to what Newton was a few hundred years ago, but until we understand anti-matter more, then we can see if this idea works.

Of course, by then I'll be a pot of ash on a descendants fireplace.

No, I saw it in New Scientist or some newspaper ages ago. It thrilled me ;D

Fingers crossed that my offspring's offspring make it onto that ship! And escape this hellish place.

Doesn't this method practically need us to convert the entirety of Jupiter to power it?

Also, once the bubble collapse everybody dies that was inside the bubble.
