So I'm coming back to the escapist after a very long hiatus. (to the forums anyways though really I never really stuck around them long enough to say I was truly there.)
I know its kind of narcissistic that my first post be about myself or what ever but I got a little carried away writing my bio before I'd realized that the escapist (with good sense.) had a character limit on that sort of thing. So I'm just going to post this as an introduction.

I've always felt comfortable on the escapist and I'd hope to stick around this forum this time even though it has been bought out by facebook... it doesn't matter. I mean it does but it doesn't. So yeah I'm just going to say hello in over 40 breaths.

Short version: I prefer green tea over coffee but I'll drink both hashtag SO HIP

Long Version:...

Like most everybody I'd expect to meet on here I grew up suckling on the teet of the video games industry. I've always enjoyed games and I'm sure I always will but you'd be more likely to find me in the off topic discussion board. My diet consisted of Nintendo in my youth, the great ambrosia that was the era of the PS2 as my armpits became hairy, and healthy heaping chunks of Bethesda as I grew older. (and now todd howard owns a good piece of real-estate that was once called my soul.)
I've had the luxury of living in Florida and later New York state as well as having a loving family to make the journey with me. My father comes from a long line of chefs and the art that he has brought into the home and my mouth could very well place my pallet among professional food critics and that is a (FUCKING) privilege, one that I'd not come to understand until I was older.
I currently fancy my self as a writer and a bit of a traditional artist but I've neglected the later as of late so if I'm going to be critical I'd mostly call myself a writer. I use pen and paper and composition note books for the hobby and its probably the stupidest thing I could do because I have horrible grammer and the size of my hand writing ensures that it'd take eons for me to get my stories out of my head.
I used to be a singer in a post hardcore/metal-core style of band though I've always loathed that I used my vocals in a genera I didn't much care for and loath it even more having had the genre grow on me over years. I suppose I still am a singer but at the moment I'm not much good for doing it publicly. If I were to ever get back into the swing of it I'd probably settle for less but would ideally be play what I think the kids call indie with just acoustics.
I used to think of myself as a provocateur not some what of a provocateur but full blown like it was my occupation playing the devils advocate and bringing as much of an inappropriateness as I could to any situation kind of provocateur. After so many years of doing that it has become rather hard for me to think before I speak and I think that is the definition of a idiot. Hell I hardly think before I post on the internet. This is me showing restraint. Something I'll try to do more of while I'm on here.
The result from that era of my life is a google search that gives the absolute wrong impression or maybe the right impression because I'd made it my business to make the wrong one and on top of that I'm sure you'd find a few stupid things that I've said and actually beleived at the time. I may well have cast my self down to the tier I'm at now (so dramatic)
so I'd say most recently I've spent some time as an American burakumin so to speak. (A little dramatic I know but that is one way to describe it which is not to say that my experience could no where near compare to the harshness, the toil and social disdain that was the lives of the lowest class of the japanese society centuries ago but in some aspects saying that wouldn't be dramatic enough. So is life.)
And as you can tell from the above statement I am a bit of a half baked (currently that is but a metaphor.) philosopher often times to my detriment. So yeah I'm kind of an open book. I'm mean literally did you just read that book I wrote for you guys and gals? If you did... well... thank you. I'm sure there something better you could have done with your time unless you found yourself entertained. In which case you should hang around with me on this here internet forum and join us in a bit of distraction or ...escapism before you head back out into the world, however you see it, however it treats you.

Welcome (back) to the forums. I don't know when you were originally on here but you may find it's changed since your last visit.

Your first post is a lot more interesting than mine was. I went straight into a debate about Atheism and Religion. I have mostly learnt my lesson and stayed away from those topics.

What made you come back with a new account rather than revive your old one?

Welcome to the Escapist, just read up on the forum rules, stay out of the basement and press the red button whenever you see it and you should do just fine around here :)

By the way, not sure if your reference to the Escapist being bought by FaceBook is serious or not, in-case it was that was an April Fools day joke, thankfully the Escapist is still owned by Digital Alloy.

Welcome back to the Escapist then, buddy! As Legion has already said, it's probably changed a lot since you were last here. Be sure to stick to the rules and everything will go smoothly! And it is great to meet you!

Welcome back. Good to have you with us and may your stay be long and prosperous! Don't worry about the post, I've seen and done worse! :D What you've written sounds strangely familiar.

Here, you might want to have a look at the Escapist Creative Society if you haven't done already:
