Ipod Headphones - Recommendations?

So, yesterday, it happened. My trusty headphones that lasted me since last Christmas decided to cut out in one ear. So, I ask you, members of the Escapist, to recommend me (or anyone else who wants them, I'm not selfish. Well...) some headphones.

I think the most important feature is that they're under £30. 'But they with suxxors!' I hear you cry. Well, I don't really care how clear the sound is, as long as it's decent. I'm no audiophile, so chances are I wont notice the change in sound quality.

The type I'd prefer is headphones - I think they're the ones you put over your head, rather than stick buds in your ear. Although, earphones would be ok as long as they have some sort of clip - I can't stand ones that fall out your ear. Oh, and one more thing - no 'in ear' headphones. They're so painful (I'm using some as replacements... ouch) and I can't really understand how people use them regularlly.

I understand that what I just wrote above comes across as a spoiled 5 year old's list of demands... but ah want mah headphones!

But seriously, I'd appreciate any help that people could give me.

I can recomend Koss Porta Pro.
Cheap, good sound and not too big.

I also like Skull Candy, but I find them a little to "soft".
Doesn't hold on too good.

I use TDK MP100's with my PC, and they should be about £15. Not the biggest but not the smallest.

And my iPod has Sennheiser MX50s at the moment (prefered the MX260s), but they're earphones. Basically, go for Senns if you can :D

Bose.

Not sure what they're called more specifically. They are earbuds that are comfortable, they stay in your ear amazingly well and have great sound. They ran me about $100. Best impulse buy I ever made.

Just checked them out on Amazon - they've got great reviews but they seem quite big and clunky from the picture. What are they like to actually wear?

I'd recommend either the Skull Candy ear buds or the similarly priced "High Performance" line by Sony. The only thing I'd warn you about is that, although Skull Candy phones are supposed to be tough, they do break. I've also went though two pairs of the Sony's, so it may actually be best if you can find a different company altogether if you're looking for more durability. The two I mentioned do have very decent sound quality for their price - much better than the stock Ipod ear buds.

Scratch my last post. Sennheiser is known for their exceptional headphones. I haven't personally owned a pair, but they've gotten many positive reviews.

There's also plenty of other options to browse through as well.

Hey, they look cool too - I'll have a look at some reviews.

BTW, who is that on your avatar - your the second person with him and I'm worried that I smell a meme. Just like my avatar.

If there painful, then use a smaller bud ;). Its a shame you don't like in ear ones, because I would have suggested the best head phones on the market imo and they are only £25.

Shame. Ah well.

I use earslip headphones cause earbuds hurt my ears.

The ones I have look like these

I've had mine for a little over a year and use them daily. Wearing them for a long period of time though gets a little uncomfortable.

Ok, ok, you've enticed me!

Maybe it is them, but having things sticking right into my ears doesn't seem very comfortable.

But nevertheless, I'll trust you on the fact that the ones I use are too big!

That's Billy Mays. He was the number one iconic "Pitchman" of American TV commercials. Unfortunately, he passed away in his sleep just a short while ago, and I just happen to still have him as my avatar. (I set it before his death)

So an American Barry Scott?

And I've managed to derail my own thread...

I had the same problem as you a while ago, and I went for the Seinheiser MX400 earbuds. They're not in-ear.

I like them a lot, they're very comfortable and a lot of times I barely notice I'm wearing them. They never fall out of my ears, not even when I'm running or something. They were pretty cheap as well, about 15 euro's, well within your pricerange.

Sennheisers are brilliant if you like in-ear headphones. I have a pair of CX 300 II which cost £30 and have absolutely fantastic sound and noise-cancelling properties, to the extent that I can use them as earplugs while drumming. So yeah, go for Sennheiser.
