Irish Live users help meh!

Okay so I've been trying to conect to Xbox live for the last hour with eircom broadband and it isn't working.
I called Xbox support, no help.
It seems to be a local thing so I googled it and followed the tips to get it working.
Still not working, I don't want to have to spend ?90 on something that isn't broken so Irish xbox owners:
Help me!

Happens sometimes, try again in a few hours.

Playing MW2 on an Irish Eircom connection = torture.

Not very often, but it happens.

There's been several times where I haven't been able to access online multiplayer for such reasons.

Ha, yep. It's particularly bad between 6 and 10 in the evening.

The only time I can really ever get a 4 bar connection is between 1 and 6 in the morning, and it's still pretty rare.

The thing about my net, the speed is fine, it's just so inconsistent. Sometimes it'll go like the clappers, beyond what its actual advertised speed is, then 10 minutes later it'll be like 1998 all over again.

As for the holiday, very well indeed.

Try find out if your Nat type is open, that usually helps a lot. The troubleshooting thing on your xbox is pretty good too, shows you exactly where the problem is. Like if your problem is between your xbox and router, or router to your isp, or the isp to the Live servers. I am not on Eircom I'm on some ghetto provider because I live in the sticks, Dublin/Meath border ftl. We have some receiver thing on your chimney and our internet comes from there, not through the phone lines, so I have mega problems even with that. Live is pretty much impossible on peak hours, your best time to game online is after 11pm really.
