I think Irish rock can't get any better than the Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly.
In other words, I'm too lazy to click just yet and I'm pretty sure this is advertising which we don't like on here.

Yes, I also think this is advertising, and that is against the rules. And the Dropkick Murphys are awesome. Pure awesome.

Im gonna go with what they said. Also, youtube has its own comment section.

Anyway you get most intresting thread title of the day award

OT: Why is it called Irish rock. Why not rock? I mean we don't say I like American rock we say I like rock. I also like rocks, but that is beside the point

My friend summed that whole scene up as "A bunch of Americans who thought that because they're not Italian they must be Irish"

I laughed, got to admit it.

That they are. Actual Irish people don't play 'Irish' rock. We play pretty much the same rock as other people. The only people who actually play 'Irish Rock' are Americans, same way the only people who actually say "top of the morning" are Americans.

Makes you feel kinda bad that American Irish bands are more Irish then real Irish bands, dunnit?

I kid. The whole 'irish punk' thing was beaten to death for me. The DKM and Flogging Molly put on fun shows though.

I recommend The Street Dogs for any DKM fan, it's got their original lead singer. Good streetpunk.

Thin Lizzy is where it's at. Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly are great too.

Anyone listen to Black 47? The singing is kinda weird, but I can't help liking them.

Horslips is good too; good 70s Irish rock.

Oh, and Rory Gallagher. Probably the greatest Irish guitarist EVER.

Also can't forget Van Morrison and The Pogues.

I could go on, but I know I'll get carried away.
