I hope that many of you are excited for Iron Sky - the insane yet amazing vision from indie director Timo Vuorensola about Nazis... from the MOON! It looks like a ton of fun, full of humour and special effects - see for yourself!

That's the good. The bad is that Revolver, responsible for UK distribution of the movie, are screwing Timo and showing it for ONE DAY. Midweek. Yeah. I'm not impressed.

I would ask any interested person to voice their displeasure to Revolver either directly at [email protected] or on the Iron Sky facebook page and see if we cant get a proper screening for this film that many of us have been waiting a LONG time to see! I'm just a guy who was really looking forward to this film, and am sorely disappointed by what's going on. I hope there are others out there who feel the same, and will add their voices to the call to give this film a proper showing.

This makes me sad. I've been looking forward to this movie for a long time, and it's a shame to see it being handled so shoddily by the distributor. It has cult classic written all over it.

Even more so in that it's getting fairly good write ups on IMDB, so it might actually be... good?

Seen it, trust me you're not missing much. I wanted to like this but the satire/tongue in cheek element only extends as far as the premise.

Its not awful just an average B-movie with a few cool special effect shots

Heh, as if. If they're gonna release it for a measly one day, I doubt we'll get a DVD release at all, and then when people pirate it, they'll complain.

I've complained on the facebook group, and I suggest everyone who believes we shouldn't have to take this s*** should contact them anyway you can.

Considering they ban or heavily censor anything related to the Nazi Party, I'm given to agree with you, lol.

I lived there for 5 years. Its a bit empty where people are concerned, and the internet connections suck ass, but other than that I love the country. Wonderful countryside, nice people (apart from the occasional grumpy farmer or chav) and the likes.

Then again, I did live near a university town, so maybe thats why all the people were so nice.
That must have been the nice part of Wales :/

Down in Llanelli we have chavs, drugs, drunk people, assholes, drugs, and a few sheep. :/

I want to see space nazis getting killed, and I want them to be genuine space nazis, not cockneys with red eyes! Real Nazis being killed for good silly fun!

I PROTEST!

Calumon: Protest quieter, I wanna sleep.

Was looking forward to this pretty badly, then I remembered Norfolk ALWAYS gets fucked.

I'll just get it on Blu-Ray when it comes out, cinemas can get lost if they think they can keep pulling this crap.

The funny thing is it's done fine in Germany - it even premièred in Berlin! Apparently the whole 'no Nazi symbology' thing only applies to the public realm, and cinemas don't count because it's your choice to go in there. So Germany is going to get to see a satirical film about Nazis, whilst Britain isn't... how's that for things being backwards?

"Whatever happens, don't mention the war!"

Okay, for starters: Fawlty Towers is the best thing to ever happen to television.

Also, that's rather odd. From what I've come to understand, Nazi symbolism is universally banned. I'm fairly certain several video games have had to be altered just to see a release there.

Research is required!

One has to wonder why Revolver would buy the distribution rights if they don't intend to show the film. Other than to be colossal dicks, that is.

Oh, that's easy. It's 'cause dem vidja games are just kids toys, not art, see. So they aren't protected by stuff like freedom of expression and whatnot. Just ask Ebert!

(You know, just like the Nazis believed that the Jews weren't really people, so were exempt from human rights acts. Apparently German censors are immune to irony!)
