So i just saw the movie Iron sky and i thought it was awesome.
The Movie was overall really funny and had quite a lot funny political jokes,
the warmaschine of the nazis was really really well designed.
I will just say, if i see the Death Star and the "Götterdämmerung", i will be a lot more scared of the "Götterdämmerung", then of the Death Star.
And to make it even better, i saw the original version, meaning the nazis talked german most of the time, and english was between the americans and when americans and nazis interacted.
Added a lot of immersion.

(Very little Spoilers from the very beginning)
OK, considering you live behind the moon (pun intendet) and haven't heard of Iron Sky yet. It's a movie where the Nazis settled down on the dark side of the moon in 1945 and started to rebuild.
In 2018 another Space Shuttle lands on the moon, and the nazis kidnapp the inhabitands.
The Nazis build a real real big space shuttle, but they need more computing power, to actually get it to work, so they want to steal some good computers from earth so they can finally start their invasion.

So, what do you guys think of the movie?

It sounds like stupid pointless crap, america has little to do with WWII until near the end and suddenly every dam film has to portray america as the main hero againt the mean ol' nazis, really dumb

I don't know who is paying you to advertize this but it better be a good amount

Did you read my post? This is a funny movie, not a serious one and a lot of the jokes are at the cost of america.
(Actually nearly all of them)

This movie was made by Finnish, German, and Australians.. No Americans involved in developing the films plot....

It sounds like a film to watch on a Friday night with friends. Do want. Perhaps not the kind of film to watch in the theatre though because I know I'll be tempted to crack jokes.

Well concidering I am from the same country as the main lad behind this movie and the fact that he put everything he had (litterally) into making this movie and it succeeded I must congratulate him.
Also this is probably the first time someone has been able to get the majority of Germany not flipping over a Nazi joke which shows progress.
Haven't seen the movie yet but I certainly will.

hmmm...
I can't say i have ever seen the majourity of Germany flipping over a nazi joke and i live in Germany, so.
And we actually helped making this movie so why would we be angry?
What i don't like is when somebody makes a nazi joke and says "Germans" instead of "Nazis"

A pretty awesome movie. Was in a pre-screening. got autographs, poster and a t-shirt. Great stuff. Movie was great and the info panel with the director and producer opened it up even more. Lots of great references, action and enjoyable political humor is to be had. Highly recommended.

And not only because it's made by Finns. And we are awesome.

I thought I read somewhere that the Germans who were a part of making this thought the respons was very good from your side when looking at how movies and books etc gets responded to over there over this subject...
I don't know I might have misunderstood something.

Status update
By Iron Sky

UK release of Iron Sky re-scheduled.

There was a delay in delivering all the needed materials to the UK and they didn't arrive in time to release Iron Sky as planned on the 20th of April. Unfortunately this means that the release needs to be re-scheduled by our local distributor. At the moment it looks like the new UK release date will be in the end of May.
I think the UK has been trolled, original release date was 20th April (Hitler's birthday) and now it's been pushed back a long way.

Just found this out whilst looking to book tickets, don't think they'll be getting my custom at all now.

Wait i don't understand that.
You read somewhere that the german response to movies and books about nazis is very good.
So why would you thing germans would make a fuss about jokes about nazis, because every book or movie about nazis is either against nazis or makes fun of them (except books from nazis, obviously).
Did i understood you right there, i am not sure.

The movie looks like exactly the kind of thing I'd like to watch - something that doesn't take itself seriously, has a funny story and some hopefully good acting. Can't wait to see it.

I can tell you know very little about WWII.

And it's meant to be a cheesy movie, not a deep political commentary on America's place in the world.

Looks pretty interesting though.

I meant the other way.
Someone said that germans response to nazi media stuff has been very bad while this movie got good response.
Ah ok.
Well i never noticed anyone here reacting bad to media about nazi as long it's not in favour of them.
Inglorious Basterds for example was also well received here, just for example.

That was a really good movie!
Well I hope I'll get to see Iron Sky soon... Did you see it already? thoughts? (deleted the earliest quotes with "snip, snap, snop" ;P)
Of course i saw it, that's why i made this thread ^^
It's really good, but you should not go in it, expecting a serious movie.
But if your up for some laughs and some awesome designed nazi warmaschine, then you should definetly go see it.
