Well, yes it was innevitable, another 4chan thread in what seems like a hot week for them. It's come to my attention that when outsiders or people with past experiences of 4chan think of 4chan, they think of /b/ and how it is a hub for racism, paedophilia and the like.

Though I've proudly not spend too much time in /b/(inb4 "any time is too much time") but I too know how it seems to spoil the name of 4chan. I will be truthfully honest here, I was attracted to 4chan by the video games and traditional games boards which, though filled with some pretentious idiots, are generally good messageboards. Yet people seem to overlook half-decent boards when speaking of 4chan.

So here I am, asking you, has 4chan become synonymous with /b/?

I came back to a bunch of 4chan threads?

Should I go away for a few more days then?

I think I may...

Absolutely not. A lot of good content comes off there. It'd be stupid to knowingly generalize like that.

I know how you feel I'm a recovering /b/tard, a veteran of countless raids and attacks, now I'm in recovery...

The people of /b/ and it's ideology has always existed, /b/ is just a manifestation of this, it's an inevitable stage...

/b/ has always been the same there has never been "the glory days" that us old ones speak of...

And I trust /v/ for video game opinions. more than anyone else, I'll tell ya that.

I think you could make the argument that at this point, 4Chan really is synonymous with /b/ in the minds of people who don't care to do any research on their own. It's a shame, because they're missing out on other, more interesting boards.

Actually, these days, when I think 4chan, my immediate thought is of /a/.

Second thought has an equal chance of being /b/ or /jp/. Third is usually /v/. I don't know what any of the others do.

Unfortunately whenever a lot of people think of 4chan, they think of /b/ then say that 4chan is a scumhole and stuff even though there are some decent boards there. I usually think of /b/ straight away because I used to spend a lot of time there but I know that there are decent boards there.

When I think of any Chan's the first I think of is /b/, it's the first place I was ever on an imageboard and to be honest the best. Not that other boards aren't any good (/v/ is good for video games) but there aren't many.

...I like you! It isn't often I get to talk to people who have actually read the same stuff as me. I'm the only person in my fairly large circle of friends who actually reads for fun. >:

It really is a shame when people can't be bothered taking the time to read a great piece of literature.

Hmm, yes, I suppose I should of been banned. I can't really think of an excuse to go along with that except that lots of other underage people are on there. But that doesn't sound like a good excuse.

It's a major board I associate with 4chan, but like NeutralDrow, I think of /a/ first, partly because I enjoy their culture (the internet kind, I mean). Hell, my avatar kinda comes from /a/.
