I've been playing Doom 3 for a while and no matter WHAT I do, it always freezes/crashes after about 40-50 minutes of play and about half that if I'm running it in windowed mode. It's getting to be really annoying. And I have tried almost everything. Reinstalling, reinstalling again, reinstalling with a friend's copy of Doom 3, running the program as an administrator, making it use more RAM, backing it down to the lowest graphical settings. None of that worked at all.
The Event Viewer's showing that the game is crashing due to a memory error. Exception code 0xc0000005. I've had Doom 3 start a log to see what was happening and at the time of the error, the log does not say anything about it at all. In fact, it just cuts off. I've looked online for people who've had the same problem and apparently NO ONE has. I find that to be a little unbelievable though so I'm asking here. I'm almost at the end of my rope with this and this is the only game or even application right now that's ever had this problem on my laptop. UT2004, Guild Wars 2, Oblivion... All of them run just fine.
