Is horror becoming good again?

I noticed a few things from the E3 trailers, horror seems to be back but it is seemingly moving away from cheap scream in your face scares and is going for creepy things again.

Red faction armageddon has the new martian thing xcom while a complete break from its roots has a new freaky thing and enslaved while actiony has a real strange annihilation by robot idea.

So what else is coming up?

OT:Unless they have a "What the fuck" moment like the bit in Silent Hill when your about to walk out of the room filled with dummies i will be disappointed.
