After Watching a Video Review of the ps3 version of Mass Effect 2 They gave it a 9.5 And one of the Cons were 'Late to PS3' Even through he talks about how this is one of the best versions with ALL the Dlc put into it. so we lost 0.5 because we were late.

Im not angry about it just seems a little unfair.

Personally I refuse to believe that a game should ever genuinely warrant a perfect score. Mostly because no game is inheritly perfect.

Sorta off topic, but Id like to see Mass Effect 1 also on the PS3 so that I can play the first before I get the second game.

yes. IGN is very biased. have you ever noticed how strongly backed by corporate advertisements they are? it should be obvious. :/

besides that, they said InFamous is better than prototype.

no. its not. both games should be judged independently of each other as each game has its own strengths and weaknesses. shows a PS3 bias right thar.

Reviews are subjective. They are based on emotion, experience and because of this will always be, at the least, slightly biased.

Reviews are subjective, enough that I don't believe they should warrant numeric scores. Don't take them at face value and carry on.

Considering it one their Overall Game Of The Year and the PS3 version has all the DLC I would have expected the same or perhaps a +0.1/0.2 rating than the 360 version. Unless the 360 version is smoother or something.

Technically, it is impossible to view anything in an unbiased way. I do think IGN can be a bit skewed sometimes, but that seems to be the norm for big-budget game sites/publications.

I didn't see the IGN article you mentioned but I'd say it felt off for rating ME2 so high. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Bioware and ME fan (actually playing through ME2 again right now), but he game isn't flawless.

Never going to happen, Since Microsoft owns the publishing rights.

It is impossible for a human to be unbiased. However there are worse extents of biase, and i've found ign to vary depending on who from ign, (and what they're reviewing).

Every review, program and thing you read is biased...its human nature
^seconded. Unless its pumped out by a robot it will be biased based on the reviewer's personal feelings.

Shall I call the waambulance for you? Numerical scores are for idiots who can't read and corporate executives who can't think.

They're OK. It seems like for some games they're paid off to write good reviews for crappy games (particularly Wii games, since I don't play Xbox or PS3 games very often I can't speak for those consoles).

By strict definition, any review anywhere is biased.

There's no such thing as a non-biased review.

Have you ever missed going to the movies with your friends to see something cool. Then watched it when it came out on dvd. Then try discussing it like its all new and awesome.

Yeah its kinda like that

Are they biased? Yes.

Did he actually remove 0.5 because it was late to PS3? No.

Also, the number at the end is bullshit. Who cares. The important part is the good and bad things the mentions throughout the review. You should be able to decide for yourself if such things are game breakers or non issues.

Every reviewer has a bias of some kind. I think it's silly to dock a products final value for being released late, but I won't hold it against them, it's silly and trivial, but a review is an opinion anyway.
