Want to get the collectors edition for a game you already own just for some toys that you really don't need....anyone else done that?

For some weird reason I really really really want the collectors edition of fallout new vegas but I know I dont need it...thats jsut shameless consumerism

The extra bits on games aren't for me. The starter kits that you can get with certain Fallout New Vegas collections are probably apart of some mod by now. But you'd need the PC version to use them.

I bought the GotY editions of Oblivion and Fallout even though I already had the vanilla versions. Although to be fair that was before I got broadband so it was the only way I could get the expansions. For some reason I've kept the vanilla versions though, rather than trading them in at Game or flogging them to a mate for a couple of pints.

I can understand that...especially if they are cheap and its the only way you can get the DLC

But in this case its just toys....But toys I really really want..NEED, yeah htis is drving me insane I want to get the one for deadspace 2..aparantly you get a plasma cutter!

Well if it makes you feel any better, I have 3 different versions of Gears of War for some reason.. I bought the original first, then collectors edition, then the game of the year w/ dlc on it.
They just collect dust now...

Ah, I see. Well, if you've got the disposable income to buy both then I don't suppose there's anything crazy about it. If you were skipping the weekly food shop or the monthly gas bill just to get a *insert collectable here* then I'd maybe suggest a re-evaluation of priorities, but you're not. Hell dude, it's you're money, spend it how you want.
