Now, I realize this will sound like noob bitching, but bare with me. While I rarely find myself at the top of the leader board, I usually hold a respectable place, maybe 5th or 6th out of 15-20 players. However, I can't help but feel inadequate when there are people with up to five time my score playing and most of them are dominating me. Is it just me sucking, or can anyone else explain this.

Your feelings of inadequacy are based off your parents and your childhood. I believe this question would be better suited for them.

Some people have way too much time to practice. They do nothing but sit there and play that game, hour after hour.
Some of them just lose sight of what a game is: a game. Something played for fun.

At least that's what I think to myself as they pound my face into the dirt.

Just remember that game is pretty much all that person does and laugh at them. For me I just simply try and have more kills than deaths and I do fairly well.

Freud might say it's because you didn't play with your penis enough. I don't know. I am not Freud so I'll say you should really focus on more productive things than getting on a leader board.

Why do you care about people who obviously have less of a lfie than you?
Exactly.

You obviously have hit a low, asking complete strangers about personal issues, so surely you wouldn't wish to demolish the part that prevents you from becoming a lonely, lifeless ghoul that simply wishes to have the high score every week, would you?

Although, in all reality, it's the damn computer. The game puts those scores there to fuck with your mind, and make you want to play even more. You can never top them, and they just get higher and higher.

Did you know that only four percent of people seriously deviate from the average? Only half of those differ positively. Embrace your place in the middle with the rest of the normies while me and the rest of the superior people continue to dominate.

Ok off topic first; Assuming that a person has any more/less of a life based on their "skill" in a pc game is just wrong, in any way you twist it.

On topic: There could be many reasons for those results, maybe you have lag or maybe you just need to practice more. I wouldn't worry to much about it anyway. The problem only arises when the game is not fun anymore for you, just because you can't top the boards.

Try practicing for 3 hours every day, for 3 years. If you still can't get on top of the boards, it's you.
I truly belive that talent has it's counterbalace, call it antitalent if you like. Some things you are better at and some things you are worse at.

Did you ever consider the possibility that you are to stupid to realize you are not smart and the other guys just keep you around to be nice? ;P

I excel at everything I do that is not artistic in nature, and I have art monkeys to do that for me.

Seriously, don't worry about it too much. The actual fun in games like MW2 comes from killing your friends and the increasingly loud and obnoxious fits of glory that follow.

Other than that, it's just some guy who'll devote his life to something that we won't care about in 3 years. And then he'll devote his life to the sequel.

Just do as they do, copy their kits etc, if that fails, perhaps you just weren't made to win at games. As an aside, are you female? :p

Eh saying someone is better at a game and has no life is just plain wrong.

Perfect example: I have a friend, me and a bunch of other friends got him into MW1. He never played that much when he did but 2 months after first playing, hes playing for a pro team.

Now I generally am at the top of the leaderboard but I have anything but "no life", I'm a full time student, have a job, have plenty of friends, and get out on a regular basis. Yet, when I go 30 and 13 in a game, I'm called nerd and all that good stuff.

I don't know if playing a game can be natural talent or not but some people just can't be good at video games, other can be good. Some need practice, other don't. It's just that.

Basically you're talking about one of the other reasons I don't play games online. Guys who usually play online are guys who make a career out of gaming whereas I have just enough time in my day for it to be a hobby.

It's not that you suck. It's just that some other people are really, really, really, good.

It's the old "out-classed" scenario, though it's never really been a problem in my eyes. Sometimes, I'll have a really good game, but end up in 6th place, but still feel good about it.

Well, I hate to say this... but seriously, you lost the game. That's all there is to it.

There will always be people better than you, although that's not to say you can't have a good game and come in first. Feeling inadequate because you've lost is a bit extreme, although it does point to the fact that you're disappointed with your level of skill.

If you don't want to pour all of your time into this game, trying to get better, then either learn to live with being a bit average or give it some time and see if you can get better.

I really don't know why you came here though, just to be told that you're not as good as you'd like to be. Short of playing against you and losing how could we have really helped?

For someone who's been a member for 2 years I would expect you to know not to flame anyone.
Retaliation is retaliation. You say I fail, I swear at you, world keeps turning. I don't see why trying to be damn nice to someone gives you reason to personally attack me.
I'm with teh_pwning_dude on this one, I mean really what the fuck.
