By my perception it's meant to be an insult to those obnoxious trolls lurking the 4chan and /b/ boards.

also half the people who posted here have NEVER ACTUALLY BEEN TO 4CHAN, don't diss it if you haven't been there, its not ALL the /b which is pretty much dead anyway.

Probably because 4chan worked up the reputation of being the internet's cesspool. I haven't been there, but I can safely assume such a large claim is over exaggerated. Plus I'm pretty sure they're talking about /b/ anyway, but people have a terrible tendency to generalize when they're talking about stuff.

I've never used 4chan, but I've seen it and I suppose I must have already been desensitised... it didn't seem that bad. So I wouldn't really consider it an insult.
