Is Marvel planning for more small screen projects?

When Marvel announced every movie they will be making for Phase Three in one shot, those of us who cared rejoiced. But with the announcement of everything from now to May of 2019 for the big screen, that gives a problem: no major announcements will be made for the next two or three years. I mean after all announcing something as far off as Infinity War part 2 is enough of a stretch, but doing more ones after it next year seems like it's too soon given the time between when it's made and when it's coming out. So this has got me thinking: did they do this solely to get ahead of DC in terms of "what we have planned", or is next year going to announce a new show or two? There's already four and a half Netflix series in production, as well as a series and a half on ABC right now, is it possible that they might add one or two to the line? I mean it's not as if the source material doesn't give plenty of teams/groups/individuals who could pull off their own series, even despite the Fox/Sony issue.

So do you guys think we might get a new show or two announced next year, or am I just crazy (and by extension the Marvel exec who approved leaving next year high and dry for announcements)?

I suppose many announcements will concern the delay or speed up of the releases they already announced.
By the looks of it they only trust TV shows that directly tie to their film universe, so if they were going to introduce more TV shows in the next 6 years I guess they would jump off established characters and plot lines in the movies. My bets are on an Asgard-related show.

It doesn't look like it.

They may be looking at how DC is doing it and figuring it isn't worth the hassle. DC has split the new media canon between the TV shows and the movies, meaning that if any of the characters they have in one want to come to the other, they have to get new actors and ditch whatever happened in the other. The Green Arrow from Arrow, for example, wont be coming to the big screen - It'll be a new actor, and any story from the TV show will be considered non-canon.

Marvel has taken the opposite approach - Everything live action is one. And while that's great, it does present issues. While you can justify Tony Stark being unable to help Thor in a specific space of time for a movie, how do you do so for years, on a daily basis, for a TV show? SHIELD gets away with it because their working on another level, but just how many shows can you make, spanning the country and years, and never have the big guys show up, ever? How many directors and writers can you let lose into the continuity before it all turns into a giant, nonsensical shit show?

As it is, I'm happy with how things are. Marvel delivers epic action films of sterling quality, while DC fills my daily requirements for cool. Best of both worlds, without a mess.
