Honestly it was a bad idea to make it anyways. What casual/new gamer will shovel out the money to buy a Xbox 360+ the kinect when the already have a wii? There business plan failed they need to either A. try to make the Kinect more intergrated, or B. Just give up on it.
As far as a light gun. Isn't that just a wii mote then?

Yes, definitely. They are becoming one dimensional and when the peripheral and it's software falls out of favour with the consumor Microsoft will be in trouble. I just hope they realize when Mass Effect 3 (or any Triple A game with Kinect shoehorned in) sells millions it will be despite Kinect not because of it

Not at all... so sit down.
And now stand up again, wave your arms around!
Quickly, jog on the spot!

Yes, in my opinion they are focusing a bit to heavily on the kinect.

Of course they are. It's like a kid when they get a new toy.

Hell, it's like an adult with a new toy.[footnote]By this, I mean they're excited about it.[/footnote]

Complain when you believe Microsoft isn't even going to support Kinect and that it's just a cash-grab.

Complain when Microsoft actually supports Kinect with games.

Way to be.

The only time they really seemed to push it was at their E3 press conference this year. It's understandable why they would want to, it's has the potential to be incredibly innovative, unfortunately most of that innovation seems to be things that aren't game related.

It's nice to see more games support it in ways that actually seem interesting though.

I don't think they are focused enough, sure i don't own one and I have no plans to but for a almost 200$ price tag when it released its selection is really lacking.
Did you see their E3 offering? EVERYTHING from Microsoft was Kinect centralised.

Microsoft are far too kinect focused and by doing so they are alienating their core audience, you know the ones who've supported them in their gaming endeavours these past few years, but no just target that 9 year old whose parents are gullible enough to fork out.
Honestly if I wanted to wave my arms around and look like a twat I could go outside and do that... Maybe in a huge city like New York or London the ability to work out in front of your TV is a great benefit, but in Australia we have these things called parks, ovals and gyms.

Somehow you seem to have the idea MS is making all those Xbox games... they don't(this isn't Nintendo), they made the platform now it's all third party developers bringing in the cash.

So they can easily concentrate on Kinect because as you said it wasn't of much use sofar, but their actual engineers are no doubt working on the next console (and no they wont tell you about it till it's done).

Who said anything about MS making them :/

MS is responsible for the device, though they do have games of their own that they can make it a part of in possibly more interesting ways then how Ghost Recon used it. I would not like to see Ghost Recon's implementation in Halo game for example.

I would like MS to stay focused on Kinect until they release a decent Mechwarrior or Mechcommander title using Kinect. Then they can go back to doing non-Kinect stuff. They won't need to develop anything else.

In the meantime, other developers will continue bringing out games to play in-between bouts of frenzied Kinect activity*
* I note that the time in between bouts of frenzied leaping, flailing, squats and running on the spot may be considerably longer than the bouts of exercise themselves**
** Many gamers might find that they have yet to reach the start of their first bout of activity using Kinect - that they have yet to complete the "rest period" where they play normal console games with normal controllers. For some gamers, this "rest period" will be, effectively, forever.
