Is Modern Warfare's online broken?

I've been playing Modern Warfare as a break from all the zombie killing I've been doing in Left4Dead2.
I've noticed a few strange things happening in the game that well... can't normally be explained.
My boyfriend and I noticed that there were several people who JUST WOULDN'T DIE. While playing on High Rise, a young fellow on top of the helipad was shooting out teammates, so being the ninja I was, I snuck up behind him. I shot his with my akimbo mini uzis until the clip ran out. I was point blank... (Also, I know I was hitting him because the X came up, and how do you miss that from that close?)

But that wasn't the end to the weirdness. My buddy decided to play a Hardcore match, but little did he know, the game was glitched. He saw his own teammates killing each other, but instead of deducting points, it gave them kills and points. Of course killing the other team gave points also, but killing is team also gave him points.

Last night, another friend played MW2 whilst my buddies and I kicked butt in scavenge in Left4Dead2. All of a sudden he starts yelling. "What the hell is going on?! There's 18 people in a free for all match!" He was playing on Rust >.<"

I've heard of other weird things happening lately, but I was hoping someone could shed some light on the situtation.

Actually this is a problem with console version too and is nothing to do with hackers don't just be so quick to be a troll.

And there was a thread with a similar problem to this already on the PS3 so this must be a general bug Activision needs to fix.

Yes, it is broken. Hackers, cheaters, glitches, lag, ping and strange crashing servers. Good for nothing.

For a game where the multiplayer is the big selling point there are sure a load of faults with it. So far I've only come across 1 glitcher and...well that's about it. A fuckload of campers though.

Sounds familiar. Apparantly it's a glitch that allows you to, in effect, move the entire lobby to a private match which is scored like a regular match of the lobby you were in. I only know this because some kid who can't have been older than 11 was asking 2 guys on my team if they knew how to do it. Hopefully, if people are so open about it, IW will sort it out soon enough, but given that Pipeline's still got the pipe glitch on MW, I'm not so sure.

well, recently I got an angry message from a dude thinking I was cheating in MW2... apparently he shot me 3 times in the head and I didn't die, which was a bit odd =\ (I was playing the PS3 version)

Also, often the 'host migration' will fail, and the game will end prematurely... and then theres lag sometimes. Nevertheless, usually its a glitch-free experience for me.

Well I wasn't going to mention that but that too I love how people think there are only hackers and pirates on the PC and everything is some sort of promised land.

I never had any problem with it. Then again, I only played for a weekend and then got rid of the game.

I nominate Infinity Ward for the laziest PC port of the decade award.
I don't think they would win. See, their removal of dedicated servers took them more work than it would take to just let them be there. Hence, they should be nominated for the "Failiest PC port of the decade"

... Is failiest a word?

Ive not experienced anythign liek that on the 360? Ive had the odd hard to kill but that was due to lag and connection timing.

I've had similar problems. I managed to sneak up behind a camper and empty my UMP into his head at point blank range - only he didn't seem to get hit at all. I was about to knife him for good measure until his team-mate spotted me and akimbo-shotgunned me.

I was not a happy chappy, but I carried on regardless and did OK in the end.

Though I should mention that I was playing the X-box version.

I played a glitched up domination match two nights ago. I came in at what would normally be the end of the game, the score was something like 202 to 164, but the game kept going on all the way up to about 1783 to 1545. I unlocked several attachements for about 5 different weapons from that one game and I had somewhere in the neighborhood of 300+ kills and 160+ deaths. The only downside to this was the fact that the game never really ended. We had a teammate who could've ended the match with a nuke but he kept getting killed just before he would unlock it. The match eventually just lagged out but it would've been interesting to see how big of a match bonus everyone would of gotten if someone had dropped a nuke.

Does Xblive use dedicateds, or do the consoles host, I forget. You have to add dedicated servers before you can remove them, I don't think they included them in the first place.
I phrased my comment wrong. What I meant was that it would be easier just to include dedicated servers than making P2P.

I read that somewhere.
