Is my luck really THAT bad?

Quick warning to those of you who're quick to jump the gun, I searched this under about 5 different thread titles and nothing came up.

This thread was kind of inspired by a recent event that I thought I'd share with you all, but first allow me to establish the topic. Share an exceptional tale of bad luck with us all, whether it be in a Video-Game, or on the bizarre console we call Earth.

For me, it occured not long ago. I had organised to go to town with a girl I liked, and everything was looking up. It was a sunny day, we had plenty of time to talk and such, you know how it goes. So, I was getting ready, and this is where it all begins...my hair-dryer died on me. This was the smallest irritance of the day, so I chose to ignore it. I left the house, and it takes about an hour to get to town. After ten minutes, the heavens opened, and it rained torrentially all day.

I did my best to look on the bright side, after all, it was only rain. Then, much to my surprise, a HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) drove past, breaking the speed limit, and purposely moving close to the curb in order to hit a rather deep puddle and further soak my clothes. This was where I got pissed off. After finally getting to town, I received a phone-call from the girl, telling me her parents wouldn't let her out. By this point I'd given up, and walked in to the closest McDonalds to drown my sorrows in a furious torrent of processed meat, only to discover the £10 I'd brought with me was now wet through, and turned to mush when I pulled it from my pocket.

After all of that, I adopted a "fuck this" attitude, and stormed home in the rain, getting home and resigning myself to my bed.

So, my fellow Escapists, could you share your bad luck tales?

well i skate and me and my friend tryed to get on a bus to town, (to go to a skate pak about 10 miles away) when suddenly as we were walking on the driver noticed we had skate boards and (steriotypically) said we couldn't get on (because he thought we were going to cause trouble)
and i know there is no law or rule that we cant bring small things like skateboards.
and when we finnaly got a lift to town from a friend the car broke down on the motorway so we walked the rest on a small path to the side of the road.
then we noticed the only way to get to town by walking was over a bridge which was blocked off from us by a 2 meter high wall.
when we gotton past our huge detour on to the bridge, we got to town and too the skate park when the hevens opend, we were soaked nearly wreking our boards and we had to dive for cover into a arcade.
only too be kicked out for 'loitering'.
so we called home and got a lift back where we were stopped by a police car because our back right brake light stopped working.
when i got home i had too buy a new phone, as it had benn fried by the rain.

I'm sure I have loads in my head but whenever I try to think of one I keep coming up with good-luck stories. I'll be back soon -___-

I pity you with your paper money. Australian dollars are far superior in all their plastic glory. Prettier too. Aussie notes are some of the nicest in the world.

I remember going to a pub to meet someone (also in torrential rain), only to discover they weren't coming, the pub was out of beer and whiskey (you heard me) and their pool table was broken. It all really sucked.

I never used to as my hair was quite long and I could never be bothered, but then I had my hair cut shorter and it looked nice so I wanted to keep it that way...

I hate being vain =(

While it's not super bad luck, when I was working overnights at a Sam's Club I had my days off switched less than two hours before I left on what had been my Friday (last day of my work week).

Another time, when I was still a cart-pusher at Wal-Mart (I worked at a Supercenter), I got stuck as the only cart-pusher out on the lot. While I was out there alone it started to rain a little (no lighting or thunder) and I noticed one of the carts wasn't rolling right. I flipped the cart over and noticed that there was some hair and gunk jamming up the wheel, so I took out my brand new folding knife that I had bought no more than three hours and tried to dig out the gunk. The tip of my new knife broke off inside the wheel cap/wheel rim. I then pulled out the warranty notice/sheet and read it over, only to find out that I had used my knife improperly and had voided the warranty. I decided that it was time to take a 'mental health' break and went back to the break room to grab a soda. When I got there I found out that my favorite sodas (Dr. Pepper, Pepsi and Sam's Cola Fruit Punch) were all sold out.
