Yeah, but iron maiden and weed are things which discussed in a bar with women, other dudes or just people on the street. I guarantee if you tryed the same thing while brandishing a gameboy you may find yourself sitting alone very quickly.

Edit: Fixed my quoting debacle.

I think the video games are still cool. I play with my friends every once in a while. My favorite would have to be Charizard.

Yes, but are they Koo-el?

Kids are all about the hip-hop and the date rape drugs these days.
You didn't REALLY just call iron Maiden hip hop, right? You didn't REALLY?

pokemon can fall in a ditch and die. i stopped liking around the ruby/sapphire era when i put like 50 hours into a sapphire game and realized that it was basically grinding, which sucks. i did get pearl version (i usually get the second, less popular version) and i played through to right before the pokemon league place before i decided i didnt care anymore. and then theres the thought of having to see, and god forbid, own at some point all five freaking hundred pokemon. im sorry, but i prefer action over turn based combat, and im not that dedicated either. also, their all pretty much exactly the same in terms of story and gameplay. even some new pokemon are basically old pokemon with new names.

now that i think about it, the only reason it gets a free ride is because it was once popular, and can get away with sucking. sonic the hedgehog did this also. final fantasy aslo does this, though i can say they improved when they switched to real time action combat rather then that turn based garbage. but i still cant say i really like it.

In a nostalgic and slightly ironic way there are few cooler things. The new games can eat my ass though.

No. No I did not. : o

I was saying that kids these days aren't into Iron Maiden, because hip-hop's where it's at. Which was mostly for comedic effect, but hey. It's no longer amusing because I had to clarfy.

(I could quote the person above me but that seems like a no-no on a forum)

What can I say, I kill jokes like ... a serial killer kills cereal
I COULD rant about how in the distant perfect utopia of no "gangtas" which is where I live that rock is very much alive but, that would be off topic and probably not true.

EDIT: Holly crap I forgot what the topic was I was too byst being the stalwart hero of pointlessness, Favorite Pokemon: Rapidash for being the only FIRE pokemon in the entire stoopid game of pearl and sapphire BESIDES the starters.

Oh no you di'nt!

151 was a manageable number. You could get the jist, at least, of all the Pokemon. Now we've got, what, over 350 or something stupid? More isn't always better, Funk! How am I supposed to know the Bedoof (sp?) is the handicapped brother of Ratatta? Or that a Shinx is the electric Pokemon that everyone (Or just me, maybe) wants to punch in the face for being so useless?

I've got to agree there, I used to love pokemon when I was younger and the games were awesome. But seriously, 151 of them was a good amount, not too many or too few, it's just confusing now. As tempting as the giant steel penguin is, it's just too many to handle. I was happy with Charizard, Blastoise and Jigglypuff :p

Yes it is still cool among the following groups:
7 year olds.
The Japanese youth.

And those 'scene kids' the girls of which particularly plague my college with big hair, false eye lashes and lots of foundation. who embrace how pathetic they are as cool, whose hobbies include; Crying, Watching animé, playing WOW or on 4chan on their sidekicks, whom are obsessed with Japanese culture (well they aren't individually but believe the rest of the collective are so just go with it and buy some hello kitty and pokemon tee-shirts, which they then wear to a shitty scremo concert and spend the rest of the week talking about how they only went to see the weird Japanese metal warm up act) who make my soul blee..Sorry got very off track then.

I think somewhere along the line you got mixed up. Scene kids and Japanophiles (and pedophiles in the case of 4chan) are mutually exclusive.

I think the best thing about the newest Pokemon game is that there is always something to do. I can go out looking for a specific pokemon in the wild, raise one I have to evolve, dig up evolution stones and useful items or breed my pets together to get new ones with interesting attacks. I've got over 150 hours of playtime in the game and there's more to be had... not bad for 35 bucks, really. It's a lot to be had if you try and take in all aspects of the game at once, but if you just do what you're comfortable with and expand your scope it's easily manageable.

It's been almost thirteen years now, and 3 sequels in that amount of time really isn't a ridiculous number. There has been more than a decade to figure out the Pokemon who came after the 151 if you really care... That's all I'm sayin'.

then my college must be built upon some abandoned nuclear facility which created the mutants that plague it.

OF COURSE POKEYMANS IS STILL COOL!!!

everyone has an in-the-closet love for pokeymans, whether they want to admit it or not.

even though Snorlax and Garydos instantly trump all other pokeymans, Beedrill is legitamtely the best pokeymans to start a battle with, because it has high attack power, high accuracy, and it's incredibly high speed gives it priority.

of course, the best pokeymans were the original 151.

The only cool ones are the first 151. The games were simple and fun before they started adding all twelve of pikachu's cousins! The show and the card game are only cool if you're still in elementary/junior high. (although the Team Rockets Rockin' song is my *closet* favorite song from the series.) My favorite pokemon is probably Farfetch'd. He reminded me a lot of the mad duck from Earthbound!

So the answer is yes and no.
