Dunno about obscene, that's a pretty grey area, but it's most certainly gross.

Your welcome to argue that this isn't obscene, and I kind of agree with that, obscene isn't the right word, the picture itself is a little disgusting and fuck you for suggesting I don't get an opinion on this. me being disgusted or not by pubic hair on a woman is an internal process, the fact that it bothers me doesn't affect her at all i'm not a misogynist trying to control a woman's body i'm a sexual person who can have likes and dislikes and just because I dislike something and state that opinion out loud it doesn't mean you have to listen or change your behavior as a result it just means I have an opinion. if I choose not to date someone because they have a sentimental attachment to their pubic hair and refuse to shave then that's my decision aint it?

as a person who enjoys sex I can honestly say I prefer shaved women for practical reasons. I enjoy making my gf happy using only my mouth, I enjoy it a lot, but hair tends to hamper that as you have to stop every 15-20 seconds for a palate cleanser. it just makes my job more difficult so the more often she shaves the more often i'll go down there. For the record I shave too, only fair right, if I expect them to reciprocate I have to as well, plus sex with fully shaved organs on both sides feels SO much better. and it eliminates the hazard of a condom pulling it out on the dismount like they always do.

I do feel the need to mention one woman I met in a strip club years ago, she had long, long long armpit hair, like a good couple of inches. she didn't shave under her arms but she did dye them to match her hair on her head, she was clearly a brunette because her roots were dark brown on both her head and under her arms, but the rest were dyed platinum blonde almost white. I had to admire that decision, not worried enough to shave it off, but worried enough to dye it to match...

i'm not interested in oppressing women over something as stupid as hair, this girl had an instagram account yes? meaning the only people seeing these pictures were people who subscribed to her account, or is that not how it works I thought it was like twitter or facebook but I don't know I don't use it. however if all we're talking about is her followers seeing the pics then why in the hell would instagram come in and censor it, if someone had a problem with it they could just unfollow or whatever. hell I follow some porn stars on twitter and they post to instagram all the time meaning they can't have a very strict non nude policy i'm guessing.

Regardless of gender I usually find body hair to be a little bit gross when it's peeking out over clothing.

Ever see a dude wandering around with a clowns head worth of chest hair just blooming out of an unbuttoned shirt collar?
Same thing and equally unpleasant (to me).

That being said, I'm not about to pound my fist and demand that all body hair be shorn to within what I find to be acceptable limits. My minor displeasure isn't worth demeaning another person over something relatively insignificant.

The lengths people go to, for consumerism.
I couldn't read more than half-way through the first page because of all the negative views on body hair.
I'm clearly in the minority here though, so I'll refrain from posting a more lengthy post.

OT: No, pubic hair poking out of a bikini is not "obscene".
Taste does vary, but obscene is too strong a word for something as simple as hair.

I could have sworn this has been posted here already before or I could have seen it somewhere else. Anyway to be perfectly honest I don't get people's obsession with being bald all over anyway so whatever.

Hurrey the interwebz and the public behave like giant cunts once again. News at 11.

What is there to discuss about. Even if you dislike hair and what not she posed in a bikini and got deleted while 5 million others did not. It's stupid and arbitrary.

Personally idc that much. There is "too much hair" but otherwise i don't care if ma lady is shaved or not both is fine by me. Except armpits - everyone should shave those imo.

I hold both men and women to high standards when it comes to swimwear. If you're a guy and you want to pull off a Speedo then you need to be tanned, have a swimmer's body and have shaven your chest, legs and pubic area. Otherwise it just looks god-awful, some would say it still looks awful regardless and yes, those same standards apply to women too but that's just my personal opinion since I've never been one to like body hair; I think it looks untidy and is unhygienic.
This gives me an urge to go swimming in tight trunks with pubic hair hanging out. Add to that my pale skin and fairly slim but definitely not chiseled physique and I should be able to clear the pool.

OT: I support the idea that anyone can wear whatever they like, where-ever they like. This does not prevent people judging them, as long as they keep it to themselves.

1) Why is her instagram still online then? http://instagram.com/petrafcollins

2) Are we sure it wasn't her illustration of a bleeding vagina that got her account shutdown? Hell, if you go on her instagram there are more than a few images where her pubic hair is visible and the account is still live.

If her account was shutdown for this reason it's patently ridiculous, especially given half her images are borderline pornographic in the first place. However, she has know way of knowing because Instagram doesn't actually tell you what picture your account was suspended for. If we further take a look at their posting guidelines

Body hair is body hair. There is nothing obscene about it. Unfortunately, society as a whole has their head shoved so far up their ass they seem to still think that anyone they deem as a woman shouldn't have body hair because it's "gross" and "unnatural". Well if it was unnatural, doesn't it stand to reason that people wouldn't naturally grow it? It's a double standard. Men are seen as weird if they shave their bodies (unless they are professional-ish swimmers) and women are seen as weird if they don't.

Here's my question: Who the fuck cares what someone decides to do with their own body? It's not affecting you personally so why does it matter so much? If I decide to shave, that's MY decision and only affects me. If I decide not to shave, again, that's MY decision and only affects me.

Women's bodies are so overly sexualised it's ridiculous. It's too the point that natural body hair is deemed "inappropriate". It's not "dirty". It's not "obscene". It's not "inappropriate". It's not "gross". It's not "unnatural". or anything else along those lines. Unless you are someone with the mindset of a prepubescent person who can't seem to grow the hell up. It's just like the argument that I have daily with asshole men who invalidate my gender identity constantly and disrespect my wishes to be treated like a person just so that they can tell me how "beautiful" or "sexy" I am. Until I tell them that their comment is unasked for and then suddenly I'm an "ugly, fat cow".

If it doesn't harm you personally, then why should you care so deeply about what someone else does or doesn't do? If it's just because they aren't "attractive" if they don't conform to this ridiculous ideal or that ridiculous ideal then tough shit, pull on your big person pants and get the fuck over yourself. Not everything that people do is to be attractive to another person. Most of the time it's because it feels good to them. And that's what should matter. IMO.

I wonder how many women had my experience with stomach hair. That they were never explicitly told that it was gross. But once they started shaving they really noticed the hair on their stomachs. It is generally pretty fine(and it doesn't even form a trail like the stomach hair on men's stomach can), but the sudden change from a little hair to no hair between the lower abdomen and where the bikini line starts is suddenly noticeable. Mostly because you start comparing yourself to the images of bikini clad women in the media, and you notice that their tummies are hairless as well. So there goes another five more minutes in the bathroom.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was quite common, but I wouldn't particularly know.

I tried looking for pics of a close-up of male pubic hair for the sake of showing pubic hair on instagram and couldn't find anything. Sorry I'm on my phone so it's hard to find some. if you have the time could you give me a tag to search for to see them so I can judge myself?

Thanks
I didn't go looking for a close-up, but you can find men with more pubic hair showing just based on the hashtag #pubes. I would have posted pictures earlier, but I worry it might violate Escapist standards (though evidently not Instagram standards).

There is a freaking "pubes" hashtag.

Probably because you don't have balls hanging down there which are definitely more complicated to shave then the rest of the area.
I'd say trimming was just as easy but not shaving i wouldn't ever try shaving them balls again its to scary, trim instead quick & easy.
If labia didn'exist, I might think you were on to something.

Being a man who's family could be used as an example of the missing link I don't think hair is obscene. Though basic maintenance can make things nice and neat. I never used to but when my current partner said it's a little too much down there I was like "Ok" and grabbed some scissors... sadly I thought she meant I was just too huge and BOY was it painful

the funy thing is its probably more hygenic to have hair down there

A one piece swimsuit makes you look tarty or drags you breasts down and makes you look fatter and worse than you are. It's tart or frump.
A bikini makes anyone look like a tart. Every single time.
you shouldn't get so upset over "tarts" not conforming to your standards...or call them tarts eather

Fair point as a male i've never really had to consider the complications of shaving the labia, much like i never considered the complications of shaving the balls till i tried it & decided trimming is more my thing.
I'd imagine if i had been born a female instead i'd feel the same about the labia as i do about the balls in regards to shaving.

I think the double standard is kind of abolished. Most young guys shave downstairs, its just thing now. I personally shave because its a lot tidier
I beg to differ, the guys I know trim, shaving is too much work for most guys.
Trimming can be SO dangerous for guys though.

A friend of mine cut himself trimming with an electric razor where the skin of the sack meets the front of the? shaft (I?m a poet!).

He was so ashamed of this that he actually sewed himself up using a fishing line? and had to cut off the excess skin (he did a terrible job supposedly) a few weeks later with scissors. No anesthesia too

Bon appétit! ;oP
I haven't seen this much nope in a post in a long time, just covering my groin and walking away now.

*five minutes pass*

Um...I don't know enough female genitalia to have an opinion.

Even for a man if he shaves his chest and stomach area but has a bunch of hair sticking out of the top of his... shorts/speedos then its still a bit weird.

I dont think people mind the bush, its just having it sticking out, if the man is hairy in the rest of the body it kind of blends, since women dont usually have that much hair on legs or torso then all the hair that is there is considered pubic hair, and I dont think its because a bush is ugly but because we can see that bush in a situation where we probably arent supposed to.

just reading this caused my nuts to curl back up into my body, I need to bleach my mind of reading this.

seriously, even *trimming* down there is a challenge, I've tried shaving down there thinking it would be like my face (easy and quick with no cuts or ingrown hairs) and holy fuck did it cut near instantly and hurt like a hot spear had just pierced my nutsack. I may try again someday but until then just trimming it barely does enough to keep me happy.

OT: While I thought it was an unattractive picture and prefer my partners to at least trim up the lawn if not shave down there, I don't see why it should be taken down, if guys are allowed to do basically the same thing then I don't see why a girl shouldn't. (obviously they won't get to every single account/report instantly, so i'm sure you'll see it from time to time)

A public website can show whatever it wants, even if I disagree with it and think it should be equal for everyone.

I'm sorry but I shave as a guy and I think pubic hair is gross. I hate sticking my hands down a girls pants and feeling a rain forest. It's way easier to shave than trim and it has so many damn advantages, please boys and girls go do it. As to whether or not it is obscene.... hmmmm yeah kinda, I mean people addressed how if a guy in a speedo had a bush sticking out it would be revolting as well.
