Is something wonky with the site?

I've accidentally double posted a few times, had my edits come in late, and one thread I posted in seems to have disappeared entirely. Is something going on?

Y'know I've noticed something like that too. It's never happened to me before a few days ago but I have double posted a few times.

I have also been having troubles with the website being more glitchy than normal. Sometimes it logs my account out when I try to post, or it says I have messages when I have none.

Yeah it seems to be really sluggish at the moment.

People wind up double-posting, threads seem to keep being made twice, sometimes pages won't load... yeah, I'd say something is up with the site. I'm sure the higher-ups are working it out, though.

The servers are being overburdened with the amount of users on this site. Have some patience as the Escapist staff are currently moving into new and better servers which will sort out these problems, so relax, don't stress if things don't quite run smoothly and it'll be fixed soon.

I just accidentally triple posted in another thread. I keep thinking that my comments aren't posting because they don't show up until twenty minutes after the fact. The same thing was happening yesterday; I thought it was just my internet.

Cool. I was mainly wondering if it was something with the site, or if my computer is having a combination seizure/antiretrograde amnesia attack.

It's my fault, I had to muck with the indexes on the forum database, and was tired so forgot to make a forum post. Sorry.

Hopefully these changes should help with some of the other recent forum issues.

Beyond the server lag, I've noticed something that just started happening over the weekend...

Every thread is a new thread. The red "New" label is on every single thread, even after I've read it. Makes it nigh impossible to navigate as it screws up the order threads list in too.

We tracked down the cause of that earlier today, so should be working now.
