I recently got an Xbox 360 and currently trying to get online. I've tried connecting it to my laptop but it's slow and only works half the time. I'm not sure it the wireless adapter is worth it as it cost $100. I've also heard that it doesn't always work right. So what do you think?

It's only worth it if you don't have the keyboard and mouse *crash, burn, humility*

But seriously, $100? Might as well buy a wired controller for $40-50, and then download the free controller software from Microsoft's website.

EDIT:
Epic face palm. I thought you were talking about the thing that connects wireless controllers to a computer. My bad.

EDIT 2: Attack Of The Unnecessarily Long Subtitle:
Just buy an ethernet cable.

I wish I hadn't got mine.

My laptop can easily get signal another 10 feet away, and am doing so now, but that money leech can barely even grab it for a few hours.

Stay wired, my man. Stay wired.

I'd say no, just because $100 is outlandish for a wireless adapter. Tethered is always the way to go for online activities.

If you can get it on a wired connection, do that. If you can't, or if it would just bo more trouble than it's worth (why I got one), get the adapter.

In my experience, which actually doesn't amount to much, wireless connections are always finicky and assy. Plus, $100?

DON'T DO IT MAN!

I'm a wireless person for the sake of convenience, but I rarely hear good thing about the wireless adapter for the 360, so I'd avoid it.

Not really, I've never seen the point in buying the wireless. I just drilled a hole in my floor and got a ethernet cable put down. Faster more reliable and 20 dollars tops from any good computery place.

You should only buy it if you really need it. Like if you have your router all across the house and you don't want to deal with a long extended wire running through. It's expensive too. But from my year of using it, it's fairly reliable and easy to set up. Also there's no wire clutter. I would only recommend it to you if you have no other means of connecting.
