I'm terribly late for this party, I know, but I'd like to throw my opinion in there, and say with utmost certainty that someone's lying to me. I'm not sure if it's the camera, my friends or the internet in general, but there's no black on that dress. One of my friends said that it's just your mind not being sure what it's looking at, and therefore filling in the blanks. But I'm not buying into that. There is no blanks, just a poorly shot picture, and it shows that
THERE
IS
NO
BLACK
ON
THAT
DRESS
I can buy the blue-colour, cameras can do the darnedest things under awkward conditions, whilst trying to make the best of it, but like I very clearly stated, I don't see, not even with the darkened photos, any black on that dress, only the gold trimmings. I saw the post that the makers of the dress put out, showing it in proper light , and how it managed to change colour so radically is beyond me. My friends are experts at making you feel retarded for having a different opinion than them, though, which tends to irritate me extremely, and trying to make me believe that it's my mind doing weird shit when it portrays the colours as gold or gold-brown-ish, which to me is an obvious lie. If I wasn't able to clearly say which colour it was, I'd buy into that as well, but the way that picture has been taken, makes the trim look gold.
I don't give two shits about individual colour picking of places on that dress, how anyone were able to point out that it's supposed to be a picture of a blue and black dress based on that original photo, without editing it, is nothing short of divining the future!
EDIT: I'd also like to say that I haven't experienced the effect that some people report, of it changing colour.
