Is the escapist dying?

I've been getting time outs and half loaded pages for the past hour. Anyone know why?

It seems to be "down" randomly too.

Edit: I'm not asking if the site is literally dying, it's just the first time it's been wacky for me. (and it seems to be fine now)

Nah, it's been kinda slow for me too, but as someone else said, it's the Zero Punctuation crowd coming in.

The site occasionally has time-outs every Wednesday for me too. It's probably due to the increased traffic for Zero Punctuation.

Makes me glad I work. Otherwise I would be in the thick of that traffic.

It is Wednesday.. There is always a big spike in traffic then so maybe that's the issue. It may also be a connection issue.

The site does maintenance at night during eastern standard time, so depending on your time zone that could be a factor. Wednesdays the increase in traffic may also contribute to your issue. Other than that the only others things causing an issue might be your nat type or just a poor connection. (Somebody may be leaching you wifi)

Eh the escapist is always timing out for me. This site and college humor always are wonky for me. It usually fixes itself after a few min though.

I wasn't actually SERIOUS when I asked if the site was dying. I was just wondering why a website the people use to check wheather or not a site is up, is reporting as "down". Calm down brosephina.

Anyway, thanks for the info. I guess the WoW playerbase has found the zp video.

Yeah, I couldn't watch a film on here. For me the Escapist lags out at least once every day. But that's probably more my internet's fault than the Escapist.

I've had a few problems and as a few before me, believe it's due to the increased traffic. Gets annoying, waiting two minutes for a page to load. It's not my i/c cause any other site loads fine.
