Is the Internet falling apart?

Given the Internet-related healines for the past few months, it's as if it's slowly falling apart. We had the PSN going down, Lulzsec, Anonymous hackings, SOPA/PIPA, and now more DDOS while the US is taking down Megaupload.

Is the Internet slowly falling apart?

The internet has always been a hub and crystalisation of complete and utter anarchy. It is a free system run without authority figures. These sorts of things are bound to happen in such a society(?) and if anything it is indicative of its health. Frankly, i'd be worried if such things weren't going on because the internet is not something that can nor should be regulated. The internet is thriving just as much as any anarchical run system would.

Which is exactly why a ridiculously cartoonish bill like SOPA isn't as dangerous as people are making it out to be. Free enterprises may have have the right to censor whatever they wish on a free internet, but it is still just that; and so the internet will fight back. You can't stop it. Not to sound like a doomsayer or herald, but you can't just tame a wild lion. The best you can do is occasionally poke it with a cattle prod.
