Is there a delay?

Is there some kind of delay between achieving a badge and having it awarded?

Yep. You usually get it after the system message. What, are you in some kind of a hurry for badges? (i'm assuming you're talking about the escapist forum)

I was on post 107 before I got the 100 posts thing.
I was wadering around the forum keeping an eye out for it to appear.
Lucky there is no badge for displaying patience

For me, badges show up the morning after the day I earn them. So probably sometime in the very early morning in US EST.
