Particularly this one?

I don't care if it doesn't have a slot in the case. I'm just wondering if it will run without diffrent connectors or whatever if I get this.

I want this for a Gaming PC I'm building for this Fall.

No, there is ZERO difference. SSDs can be used in both.
Is this a good deal? Should I jump on it?

And are you sure? I heard there was some features that you wouldn't get if this was on laptop. Not sure if its credible or not.

You have not linked to or indicated anything about which deal that is, so...maybe?

Some features? SSDs, like any sort of medium for storing information, store information. That's what they do. That's the entirety of their function. Same with HDDs, flash drives, SD cards, etc. Neither of these behaves much different depending where you plug them, assuming, of course, you use the same methods of accessing them[footnote]USB 3 would always be faster than a USB 2, for example, and some file system may perform better for some tasks than others[/footnote]. I cannot see what features those would be, so I am fairly sure you have been misled.

Well, I found a review of it had to say this: It offers all the benefits of solid-state storage, including silent operation, near-instant access, no moving parts and a decent jolt of performance, but can't escape the fact that faster drives are available at around the same price. [http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5552077&sku=S153-0127] So I suppose there are better alternatives for around the same price. If it's any help, I have a Samsung EVO and I'm quite happy with it. I don't want to check its price, especially since I don't know many good US websites for computer stuff, but that review of the SanDisk one claimed it costs about as much as mine, so I guess it might be about that much over there as well.

The difference (for hard drives) between desktops and laptops is the size of the drive; laptops take 2.5 inch and desktops take 3.5 inch.

The one you linked is a 2.5, so it will fit in a laptop but would need a 'cage' to fit the 2.5 drive in a desktop's 3.5 bay (some desktop cases come with both 3.5 and 2.5 bays and wont need a cage).

SSD hard drives connect using SATA (generally, industrial or military grade hardware uses SAS).

For best performance you want a motherboard that can support AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) and a recent OS that supports features like TRIM (ie Win7).

EDIT: Note SSD do not last as long, so make sure you regularly back up any data you do not want to lose when the SSD suddenly dies.

Any source or analysis on that? First time I hear it.

Basically SSDs can't be written to as much as hard discs. This doesn't really matter for most users though.

While it is true that SSD's deteriorate over time, in today's technology, you'd need to run DBAN once, every day for something like 10-25 years to kill the unit.

There are also fail-safes similar to SMART as well, so the failure of the unit is not without warning.

OT, The sale's a joke. %6 off? Really? We're going to play this game when my backdoor solutions can land me a similar unit for approx $160. I'd keep looking.

When OP linked it, the SSD was about ~ $120 and they even offered a rebate. I can't recall if it was $120 before or after the rebate, might have been ~ $100 after. It was certainly not that much, though. I agree, for that price, one doesn't need even consider before moving on to something else.

Currently 44% off.

SSDs are great.

They'll really surprise you with how small they are (Physically.) but the speed is amazing.

I honestly found 250GB to be a bit small for primary use, so, if you don't have a secondary larger drive, you may want to look into getting a 1TB drive to store things you're not going to be using for a time.

They'll get cheaper and larger as time goes on, but, right now is a pretty good time to invest in one.

A laptop drive is smaller than a desktop drive, so it's not going to stay in place unless you have a very unusual desktop case, you need a 2.5" to 3.5" bay adapter. The ports are the same though.
