Okay so when I touch my right ear lobe, it hurts like a *****. I told my dad about it yesterday and he said it might be a cyst in my ear lobe, so is there anything I can do about it? Should I clean my ears more often or what? It doesn't really bother me because it only hurts when I touch it but still, it shouldn't be there in the first place so is there anything I can do about it?

how long has it been there? sometimes you can get zits in your earlobe, they feel hard as a rock and hurt like hell, but give them a few days (or squeeze the shit out of them) and they'll go away.

Pop it, lol...that is what i did, hurts like ***** just bite into wood and you will be fine.
thats a pretty bad advise right there...

OT: is your dad a doctor? no? then go see one and he'll give you a medical cream to use...

or maybe he'll just tell you to stop touching it for a couple of days and it will heal on itself, just as long as you go to a person who knows what to suggest to you...

How long have you had it? Is it recurring? Is it the entire lobe or a swollen bumpy part? Is there any sign of a bite or abrasion? Do you feel what could be the head of a pimple?

I figured if it is a zit it will just heal on it's own and go away but I didn't think I touched my ear lobes enough to get zits in the first place. Though I often do sleep on that side of my body. I think I get them often enough, every time I touch them it seems like there's a zit there

It's just a swollen bumpy part but I don't think it's as bad as yesterday so it might be healing itself, I was just wondering in case it was serious.

well, i never touch my earlobes, either, but i still get zits there, occasionally. seriously, just give it a few days. unless, of course, you've got awesome health insurance with a super low deductible, in which case go right ahead and go to the doctor.

I get sort of pain too after prolonged use of audio earbuds, usually dissappears after a few hours. But if its really bad, then go see a doctor

My first suggestion is not to come to this forum looking for medical advice, any that you get will be sketchy at best.

Ow that? I have had one for years. It started in my earlobe, now it actually moved to behind my ear. He's (she?) almost fifteen, I'd better give it a name..

edit: aand of course ask someone who knows their stuff. the above is true, but you never know with lumps..

Free health care FTW.

OT: More than enough people have said to see a doctor. Listen to them.

Followup question: Do you have a cold or sore throat or something similar?

Might be a swollen lymph node. When your body is fighting off an infection of some kind, lymph nodes nearest the infection swell up due to excess blood cells and waste build up. As the infection subsides, the swelling should go down.

ahh, yes, he does appear to be Canadian. guess i should have checked that to begin with. yeah, by all means then, go to a doctor. if you were here in the US, i'd say to wait a week or 2 and only spend money if it's still there. thank god we don't have any of those godless socialist institutions here in the good ole US of A!

Sounds like a zit to me. I suggest either:
a) Leaving it be.
b) Popping it.
c) Destroy it.

A and B are most likely going to get rid of it for you, and so is C, however, speaking from experience C might hurt a lot, however once the wound heals it'll be gone.

I'd say play it safe though, and stick with A.
I personally wouldn't go seeing a doctor over something like an aching ear lobe, though... that strikes me as a bit overkill.

Pop it. Sounds like a zit, possibly a cyst. It happens to me on a rare occasion.

Is that particular ear pierced?

This, anyone who wasn't ninjs'd by this post is offering shitty advice. Though to be fair the variety of suggestions is all the OP has the right to expect when posting a medical question on an internet forum.
