Sex as in rumpy pumpy? Hell no...(rumpy pumpy yes stolen from Tank Girl)

A chick in a itty bitty bikini is not sex in my mind. And if it is in someone elses mind they need to get LAID.
+1

After all, it's our genetic destiny. Impossible to deny that. And to deny that, is to do the impossible.
To true. Yet when people talk about sex in games i like to only keep that in mind to the sex act. Putting attractive females... cute gals in nice outfits. Might stir the thoughts but not the act of sex.

Now are video games showing images that are serving or tending to provoke, excite, or stimulate? That's Provocative and they most certainly are.
Yes, indeed. Though, it's a must-have skill to filter out bad provocation. Necessary social skill, I'd say. And some do not get enough practice, if take games too seriously.

I think people confuse sex with sexualisation. People argue that right now there is hyper-sexualisation regarding specifically female characters - the scantily clad ladies of Dead or Alive for example. I read an article once, "video game as a medium is unable to evolve until it is able to come to terms with sex. Sex has a place in art and all other mediums and until video games and resolve this, it will not be fully accepted as an artistic medium". In other words, you get people raging about sex in games (Mass Effect porn simulator scandal, anyone?) but unless we stick through it and find a place for sex in gaming to be portrayed appropriately, video games will never really be accepted as an artistic medium. I think the answer is to stop (or lower) the hypersexualisation of women as marketing material and instead portray sex as the result of a meaningful relationship or interaction between characters.

Phew. Difficult discussion over. I hope you guys can make something out of that.

Sex in videogames? o0 Evidently there isn't enough of it as besides a scene in indigo prophecy, me1, GTA and...fable? I really struggle to come up with sex scenes that is more then a brief flash of polygon breasts+lots of moaning.

If anything its frustrating cos they never show the action and i feel like i'm watching my character having fun without me!

There isn't much sex in games and we don't really need it either. I'm yet to encounter a sex cutscene in any game I've played :p

Eh... if it fits, then fine, but take that part in rdr for example. that was just fucking weird, and didn't add a whole hell of a lot to the game as a whole. (although it did prevent X little kids moms from buying it for them, so props for that.)

No. Let me give you an example.

I think that we can all agree that when Bioware said that they weren't affected by what other people (e.g. Fox) thought about the sex scences in ME1, they were bullshitting themselves and us. The sex scenes in ME1 were, um, 'refined' (beautiful if you're feeling dramatic), but in ME2 they were just plain awkward. Since when did showing bare skin in videogames become offensive? I don't understand why people see even a tiny bit of sex in videogames offensive. Movies are doing it more and more every day.

However, if people started doing interactive sex scences they may be stepping over a line.......

They were planning to do that in gta: sa :p, but then it got the adult only rating.

OF COURSE NOT!

Most games still have none, how can there be too much?

The only requirement I have for it is that it add to the game; fan service always makes me feel like a perv.
Oh like this fanservice [spoiler/][/spoiler]

I don't know of much sex in video games so i disagree.

...okay, I know y'all haven't suddenly started playing games in a certain genre I frequent.

A question of "is there too much sex in video games" rings with impressive irony from a crowd that's probably never even heard of "<url=http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/3715/561488-comeseeme_large.jpg>Come See Me Tonight" or "<url=http://www.pwned.com/gamecovers/pc/1254660970-Cosplay_Fetish_Academy.jpg>Cosplay Fetish Academy."

And answers of "No, we need more!" make me wonder if people have even heard of games like "<url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.135672-Neutral-Drow-reviews-A-Drug-That-Makes-You-Dream>A Drug That Makes You Dream" or "<url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.206764-Neutral-Drow-reviews-Kana-Little-Sister>Kana: Little Sister."

Well speaking as a single guy, i'd be hard pressed to say that a game has too much sex in it (With the exception of Playboy: The Mansion). However, speaking as a player of B-game visual novels, in some cases there is too much, but then again that's the sole reason people play those games so you have to be willing to take that into account
My problem mainly comes when people interpret A-list visual novels to be no better because they share that one characteristic with the B-list.

Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to at least try the shallower games, but still.
Well if you're talking about comparing bishoujo games, when we take a look at a game like <url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVOoE9GJrog>Crescendo which has a great story, great music, and not much h-content but because of the story, it doesn't really need it, and we compare it to a game like <url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5llEo4hEiC4>Virgin Roster where the story is abysmal and overloaded with h-content, unfortunately people are always going to make an assumption that all B-games are full of porn.
But if you're comparing Crescendo to a standard visual novel like Ever 17, that's just an uninformed person
