So my room mate is watching one of those shows about high school dramas marketed to preteen girls, and while waiting for my episode of "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law," I caught some of the dialogue.
It seems that the show is romanticizing teacher-student relationships. That's statutory rape. And this show is displaying that as nothing but good and loving. They say things like "this is right, I don't care what they say."
Are we, as a country, really okay with telling our daughters that it's fine to be exploited by older men for sex?
I know this is sort of a weird post, but this is really weirding me out.
