Here's a clip from 1944 preformed by the Ross Sisters and I do believe they must lack quite a few bones to preform their act. Just skip to 55 seconds in unless you like old corny music.

All I can say is wow. The human body isn't normally supposed to bend like that! Thoughts?

Given that they did it... I assume it is.

It's like some people have bones made of rubber! Or at least a spine made of rubber.

There are limitations to guys versus girls because of the center of gravity on our bodies.

Proof:

Women can do that like nothing.

Being double-jointed works wonders. If you're a contortionist, you're a mutant built for that sort of thing.

Its not normal, and I would argue its not even healthy (Do you know how loose your muscles have to be to do that sort of thing?).

Otherwise... awesome.

I see nothing remarkable here. This is standard contortionist stuff.
Well most of us can't bend that way, so we stare at those who can and clap. And if you really didn't find their act "remarkable" then what do you consider "remarkable"? And keep in mind this act was in the 1940's and done by 3 teenage girls.

I hope I'm not the only one imagining the crazy positions you could try with one of them

Flexibility is just like everything else: great, but too much can harm you. Overstretched muscles are much weaker than tight muscles, and can cause joint damage, tendon damage, or just general weakness.

Them being teenagers makes it less remarkable. Teenagers are naturally more flexible than adults. I am not saying it isn't impressive or what have you. I am saying I have seen acts very similar to this and all the awe has been removed.

Check out Cirque Du Soleil. It's this flavor of 'holy crap how do they do that do they have no spine?' combined with awesome music.
