No...That's not normal.
At least I don't. Ever try a stress ball, champ?
That's what I usually use. That or I yell at people

You need to either loosen up, or channel you'r frustration into something a little less counter-productive.........or get a punching bag or something........

Try lisening to some music whenever you get into a rage (a little freebird always calms me down).

I read the title and I was like "pffft.....This person obviously doesn't realize how many things are normal," but then I read the post and well....

Big No on the normal.

I relieve stress by playing video games and that ALWAYS helps me. The problem I find is that people want to win too much. It doesn't matter to me, as long as I'm operating in a world outside of this one I'm happy.

Oh and school's a *****.

I tend to just fight the air. Throw my fists around. Either that, or scream silently at the top of my lungs (What? I'm surrounded by people, I can't just cream like that.).
Although I try to not get angry, since I can't afford to get dumber. Especially since I'm working as an electrician. So whenever something fucks up, I just stop and takes a deep breath. And looks at what I'm working with and think "fuck you"

Ya never play an fps online if your stressed... it won't end well. I usually listen to music, which sometimes worsens the problem actually. Or go climb the tree in my front yard and shake the branches when someone walks by just to scare the pants off them. It usually doesn't work though :(

I don't think its healthy to beat yourself up when your angry. When you get angry scream silently into your pillow or listen to music (With headphones) very loudly.

Stress and anger to those levels are never "healthy" either to yourself or others, but shit happens. Stress and anger do bad things to your body and brain. I agree with ae86gamer, that screaming/beating a pillow may be a better way of releasing the anger. You don't want to hurt yourself any more than you already are. I used to scribble horrible things on paper, then shred the paper into tiny unrecognizable bits.

Don't game...I agree that while the allure of taking out your aggression with violent games is appealing, it usually makes you more stressed. Do some deep breathing; I've got this great relaxation cd. You can just lock yourself in your room and zone out.

I know this isn't entirely "normal" either, but my favorite form of stress relief....sleep. Just go to sleep for awhile, let your body and brain go semi-conscious for awhile. If possible, I try to take a nap when I'm feeling anxious and it helps.

No, you should take it out on small animals instead. Oh wait, that's the opposite of what you should do. Never mind.

Well I imagine there are plenty of other people who do the same but I would suggest punching a pillow or something not as...hard.

This same problem happened with me on Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I decided to vent my anger, I would listen to screamo.
Guess what-now I listen to screamo. It works though.

No it isn't normal, it's what I would call a little bit crazzee.

You should invest in a punching bag if you feel the need to punch stuff or go to a gym if you feel the need to be punched.

Well, the whole one hour of rage thing is because I try not to show any sort of negative emotion in public, not including boredom. It's just a natural thing for me, so when I get raged, I freak out. I've tried most of your suggestions, but by far the best that works for me is hanging out in the forest for a while. I live twenty miles from the nearest forest.

I understand what most of you are saying, too, and maybe I should go see a psychologist, but I'm mostly just afraid I'm going to seriously hurt myself one day--I've got knives and bludgeons all over my room.

And when I went to TF2 for my anti-rage...Well, that's what I always do. But suddenly, I suck at the game, and I'm dying every five seconds. That's what caused the freakout.

Well, ugh...short of going to a psychologist that I can't afford, do you guys know anything I can do to get energy out quickly without hitting anything? I've tried both weightlifting and running, but when I lift weights while angry, I end up being a lot weaker than I usually am, and hurt myself for weeks, and when I run, I don't pay attention to my surroundings...So yeah, it's not the best choice. For running, I've also tried a treadmill and an elliptical, but I get flung off of treadmills whether I'm angry or not, and the elliptical scares me...
So, yeah...D= Any tips or tricks or something?

I do kinda the same thing.
Whenever I get agitated, angry, or nervous, my right leg pops out of it's socket. When that happens I punch it until it's numb. But what's funny is that I constantly pop it in and out without even thinking about it.
I think it's kinda a hatred for a bad habit that I can't stop.

Good thing is that I cant feel pain anywhere near there.

Beating yourself up aint the smartest move, but letting out rage like that is perfectly healthy I do it aswell. Just buy a punchbag, scream into a pillow or somethin >.>

I usually just go for a run or something. Gives you time to
think stuff over and keeps you busy.

Recently I've been pretty stressed out...I've pretty much avoided Halo or Gears and stuck with chill stuff like Castle Crashers and Lego Star Wars...I'm really just not in a great mood for competing, you know?

In theory, the best game ever for this is Left 4 Dead, because you know someone's there to help. But there are just too many asses to figure out who's good to play with.

Its not safe, but a friend of mine has shown that it is very effective. I suggest you do something else. I also get mad, but I try to just breathe deeply. And play an easy videogame with cheats on. Makes me feel better.
