When I Purchased Human revolutions inside of it was the much talked about OnLive code. Essentially, if my understanding is correct, inside my copy of Deus Ex came a CD copy AND a cloud copy. So essentially I CAN install my hard copy and then use OnLive to play from anywhere.
My problem is OnLive has no plans to move into my country so the voucher is essentially useless UNLESS I were to e-mail it to a friend in America with good internet connectivity and no copies of Deus Ex.
Of course there the issue of he is playing a game he didn't pay for, but didn't I technically buy 2 copies, since they chose to include the second OnLive copy in the purchase?
So what do you think Escapist, would OnLive be getting exactly what it wanted from this promotion, namely a new customer, or would I essentially be "unethically" giving a copy to a friend?

Aside from that it's possible you'll run into a problem where you OnLive code is only useable in your particular region of play, I don't see any problem with it. You paid your money and got two copies of the game as part of the promotion. If you want to gift your extra copy to a friend then it's not piracy.

I am concerned as to the amount of 'is this piracy' threads popping up lately. Not so much that people may actually be legitimately pirating games, but that the entertainment industries have indoctrinated everyone to the point that you have to ask questions like these.

No it is not piracy and people asking these questions; thinking they or their friends are criminals if they are playing a game to which they obtained in any other way than buying a new, unused, wrapped copy should not be how gamers think.

You bought a physical copy of the game and a license to use it as you see fit on OnLive. If you see fit to give the OnLine play privilege to a friend instead of keeping it for yourself then that is completely up to you.

Ofcourse it is, also you will go to jail if you do where big burly men will show you why you should never skimp out on games.
And on a further note unless you buy two copies of every game you can't go to heaven, says so right here in the bible.
