So the Escapist decided to hold a live chat with IRC for interaction with the members of the site (us). For those of you who made it in what were your thoughts on it? Did the answers make you understand the reviewers/editors more? Was it fun for you and what were the highlights?

I thought the questions and what not were answered well, they made an honest attempt at fixing the audio while we were complaining about it vs waiting till next time. Things will get better as they do it I figure, and there was some great funny moments in there.

And I met a few new escapists who're pretty nice, all and all for me a fun experience that I'd like to do again.

The end was gold:
"Is this thing still on? Can I start cursing people out? ...Kinda sorta?"

Very funny and cool getting a chance to talk to the people who started this place.

I'm disappointed but oh well I tried you know? You can't expect them to answer everyones question since there's 60+ of us idiots nagging various questions at them.

In total I think the event was very interesting, they got to tune their equipment a bit and got to feel out how the community works in a small dose and got a chance to show that they're not an server artificial intelligence tower making up stories.

And for us we got to meet the writers and reviewers of the escapist and actually got to see them in person unscripted which is far far more than you can say about most other websites. It was a pleasure to meet the writers and the other Escapists (except you Sky, you and your exploded head are too much blood for my poor shirts to handle).

Roughly 10 - 20% of them were mine.

They didn't answer my serious questions, or my sarcastic ones like "Can I has cheeseburger?".

A lot of it was us nagging about the audio, at points I heard people whispering off cam louder than the one with the microphone and after that was fixed I heard mouse clicking that was even louder. But it's totally understandable considering this was the first time, it was hard hearing at first but got much better. I hope the editors had as much fun as we did, I got a few laughs, the end was simply gold for a lot of us who where there(sorry Russ but no punches pulled for editors).
