I've heard a lot of people say that Uwe Boll makes horrible movies. From what I've seen of them, I see no reason to disagree. But as far as I know, the video games he turns into movies are either games that would be horrible movies no matter who was the director (like Bloodrayne), or games with so generic qualities that you don't need the license to make a movie with that idea (like Alone in the Dark). Am I right in this, or is there something I've missed?

Well, it depends. If he buys up IP's to turn a game into a movie, then yes you could actually call him dangerous. Afterall, that would mean that only he could make a movie based on that game, and that would mean that you'll never ever have an even slim possibility of seeing a good movie based on that game.
Now if he doesn't buy any IP's, and indeed just makes a movie based on the idea alone, he's just a harmless, shitty director who shouldn't be given any attention.

I will be honest, I don't hate Uwe Boll at all. I have seen a few of his movies and yes, they are terrible. However, I still watch them and the sadistic part of me does get some level of enjoyment. I will be the first one to say that House of the Dead is so bad and makes so little sense that it is actually enjoyable to watch, much like a train crash.

We need to focus our energies on Michael Bay. He is the one destroying movies. Plus, more people pay attention to him. He is the harmful one!

Uwe isn't harmful, and to be honest, i kinda liked his movie postal, it was funny, maybe it's because i haven't played the game.

I must really watch one of his movies and see what the fuss is all about, if he is as terrible as you say then there might be some damage, perhaps other directors will laugh at the thought of making a game movie because of the failure brought of them so far, apparently anyway.

But im sure we'll see more movies coming out game related, i liked Hitman despite what others say, more stealthy assassinations were need though, but Hollywood seems to be out of ideas and are just stealing ideas from old books and re-filming old movie classics, so gaming movies arnt far off.

All games movies are rubbish anyway so I see no harm in giving them all to Uwe Boll to do. At least he makes rubbish you can laugh at, as opposed to all the other film directors who do video game adaptions that just make rubbish, fullstop.

Firstly, watch (or don't if you want to be spared) Postal.

Secondly, the opinion that they would have made shitty movies to begin with isn't an argument. Most of the titles he turned into movies, probably wouldn't have even been looked at by the legitimate Hollywood community to begin with. If they were, I can almost promise that they would have been done better.

Thirdly, it's more then his movies (only a tiny bit more though, because his movies are really fucking bad). He's also insane to boot. He thinks that there is some giant Hollywood conspiracy as to why his movies are so critically panned. He thinks his movies are great, and that Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay are out to kill his career. He thinks his movie "Postal" is a brilliant work of art. He thinks that the mainstream movie community stopped that movie from getting more screens upon it's release. The truth was that he literally couldn't show that movie for free without almost everyone leaving (he attempted, and said consequences happened). Did you never hear of the very public challenge he issued to Michael Bay about a boxing match? If you didn't, I implore you to look it up, because it's pretty funny.

I think he's one of the world's most successful trolls, next to the likes of L. Ron Hubbard and Perez Hilton.
