I know the movies of Uwe Boll are awful. But I personally think he only ruins franchises which would make lousy movies anyway (like Bloodrayne) or franchises the qualities of which are so generic that anyone could make unlicensed movies with those qualities without needing the license (like Alone in the Dark).

Did I miss something, or am I right?

The problem is if he chooses something un-loved and makes a hash of it then so be it, But he chooses things we hold dear to ourselves and then cocks it up.

In conclusion, Uwe should have a camera restraining order put on him.

He wouldn't have such a bad rap if not for his massive, throbbing ego.

Thanks, because this is what I meant.

Once, an interviewer asked the great writer Raymond Chandler "Do you like what the moviemakers have done to your books?" Chandler gestured to his books in the bookshelf, and said "Done to them? They haven't done anything; they're there, just as good as always." That's what I mean, the games you hold dear are still just as good as before, so he hasn't really done anything, right? We didn't have a good movie before, we don't have one now, so we're just as well off as before, right?

Alone in the Dark (Game) was underrated. Boll's Alone in the Dark was a complete "Boll's up", hyuk hyuk hyuk.

He's fine, ego aside, his movies are the kind you laugh at 'cause they're so bad. Not so bad that they're good, mind, just so bad that you somehow laugh while watching it.

Except for House of the Dead.

Nicely said. Also Uwe has a ridiculous ego that doesn't seem to go away.

I don't really mind him. I mean, no ones forcing me to see his movies, and franchises will always be butchered, regardless of his existence.

Uwe Boll is the greatest villian in history.
Wasn't that Joel Schumacher? Ah wait, no he is histories greatest monter *g*.

Well, Boll is not very good... he is bad. Bad timing and pacing, lame shots... and the dialogs and scripts aren't good either. But one can clearly see that he is getting better. "Postal" was only half horrible and "In the Name of the King" i found completely on par with standard lame fantasy movies. Maybe around 5 movies more and they will actually be good *g*

And even though he is an ass... he at least knows it, and is not humorless about it.
