Start your metallica band back up, in the apartment?

It'd be ironic retribution if nothing else.

I have a very very pissy flatmate who doesn't talk to me, and basically ignores me. She has her own everything- like her own washing up liquid- pots and pans, knives forks, toilet paper- everything.

She plays very loud (Im mean wall shaking) Dance and house music almost all day- and is otherwise generally hostile.

I'm wondering is anyone can give me advice regarding as*hole flatmates?

-and now she's playing metallica?! Obviously she's just trying to piss me off now by playing what every her loudest music is... pity for her I spent alot of my teens in a Metallica cover band...

I seriously hate this girl. Shes a ****ing *****.

Plz escapist people help me.

is it your name on the lease? then just kick her out

if it's hers then have a talk with her and try to explain that while you respect that it's her flat you would like if she turned down the music a bit, meanwhile be lookin for a new place to live. that way if she doesn't make any sacrifices you can just leave and dump the burrden of looking after the whole place on her

OT: Flaymate is a roommate, Right/
If so then just move out.
Or sit down with her and talk.

This one is easy. You know that shaving gel you get that turns into a foam when you rub it? Put a load of that under the sheets on her mattress. In the morning she'll look like a giant marshmallow!

I used to have a flatmate similar to this, I ended up dating her for a year and we're still good friends now.

I say she's bein hostile coz shes not got any real friends knocking about so shes on an instant defensive.

Instead of asking her to turn shit down, ask her if shes feeling ok...

Might work.

Are you in the U.S or Australia?

Since if you're in the U.S get her toilet paper, since she has her own, and rub poison oak over it :3

But being serious now, people like her tend not to change or change very little over a very long period. There's nothing you can do to change her behavior. May as well try and annoy her to get her to bugger off, or consider moving out yourself.

I can't believe how violent so many escapists are.
I'm all for making love and not war so go ahread and try to make out with her a little. Then she will be putty in your hands.

What? It worked for me... for about a week... one time..

1st- Talk to her, tell her or tell another flatmate to tell her if she wont listen, to please be a bit more considerate. Tell her you wouldn't mind the music if it was a bit quieter. As for having her own stuff-thats a non-issue, some people are like that.

2nd- If she still plays little miss ***** with you, tell your landlords or whomever is in charge of the property.

3rd- If these don't work, look to move out, or suggest she do that.

4th- If none of these work, Falcon Punch.

How the hell did you end up living with someone that doesn't talk to you?

I had the same problem last year, I moved to uni and didn;t have a choice who I lived with.
There were these girls upstairs who played load and very shit (Seriously shit) music all the time. At first I banged on the ceiling a bit and they stopped for a few mins before turning it right back up.
After several weeks of annoyance to the extreame and many attempts at a peaceful resolution i walked upstaris, kicked their door in and gave them a right bollocking.
They were terrified of me from that point and didn't really do it anymore.
Hope that helps.

If not, piss her off, but big time (stuff itching powder in her bra, cut of her electricity and pretend not to hear when she asks you) but do wear some protective armor in case she attacks you for doing stuff like that.
If even that doesn't help, frame her for something so she gets kicked out.

Now I'm out of advice

According to the guy's profile he's either in Ireland or Scotland at univeristy, I think. Hence Britain. So it'll most likely be that he's staying in rented accomodation in which case both names will be on the contract. That's what it was like for me, I'm currently living with nine other people and all our names are on the contract with the landlord.

Anyway, I would seriously just tell the OP that he should talk to her and let her know his concerns. If he can't, or if she ignores him, then he should tell the landlord. Get evidence (video and audio, preferably) and present it to the landlord. Talk to any neighbours who may also be concerned or inconvenienced by the loud music and so on. Basically just complain the hell to anyone you can to try and get some action taken.

I actually had slight problems myself this year, well, not me personally, but me and my housemates in general. Basically one guy who we were living with (we all stayed together in university accomodation last year so the ten of us rented a huge house together this year as well) decided to drop out of university. Not for any course related reason, he was having problems with his ex-girlfriend who's also a friend of ours, so instead of growing a pair he decided to just leave the entire university and city and go home. He even had the cheek to tell the landlord that he was leaving for 'family reasons' and say that his mother was ill (not entirely sure if that's actually true, but it probably isn't given the circumstances). Anyway, we have a new housemate now, and she's generally quite friendly, so it ended well on the whole. Still, this guy could have at least grown a pair of balls instead of dropping out of university over one girl...
