Issues with GalCiv 2

I've been having issues getting Galactic Civilizations 2 to run properly. When it 'installs' on me, it's lacking both the tutorials and the campaign files, and when I try to run a new game, the game crashes on me. And I've been using Impulse to install it, so I have no idea what's wrong. Does anyone have some ideas?

What version of Gal Civ is this?

It would be the latest, since Impulse automatically updates it. It's the unexpanded version, as well. Just basic GalCiv 2

Still no clue what's wrong with it. No clue why it'd be missing files, since I'm getting it off Impulse, Stardocks digital distribution service.

So... no one has any clue why, even though I'm downloading GalCiv 2 off Impulse, it's missing the campaign and tutorial?
