Issues with The Sub add.

It really irks me that my first thread has to be about a commercial. Now I'm not against commercials and I know that Escapist needs them so that its content can be free, but there's a line between annoying and outright inconvenient. I can't post or quote in threads because something about its gimmick to expand on the entire screen whenever your mouse glances at it makes it impossible to click or type. That's not user-friendly. I've had to refresh my page more than enough times just to say something or find a thread. This was especially problematic when I had to get a new password; I couldn't be on the site at any time of day because the page the register had that add. I'm wondering if other people have experienced anything like this, and is there any way to not have to deal with it.

Do you use Chrome? I've been having issues with the little ad in the bottom right covering the text box or even posts in the middle of a thread and evidently The Sub ads don't like Chrome. Not that it's an excuse. All the other ads figured out how to play nice with Chrome but this one.

The Escapist has had a long history of intrusive ads that they basically slapdash into there and require nothing less than a public outcry to really be rid of. I've been on their cases, on the board and through private channels, about the issue with intrusive ads (Namely, stop doing that.) and they don't really listen that much. I haven't seen a vertical-through-the-middle-of-the-page ad lately, but I know that it DID still happen a couple times after I complained, so they really only listen when it suits them.

I made a thread about this not too long ago. Someone REALLY needs to do something about this ad. It's obviously not working as it's supposed to be, and needs to be fixed.
