THE FLIES ARE INVADING!!!

The little bastards have come out from hiding and have started flying round my personal space, landing on me and generally pissing me off.

I just slap the little bastards and then clean up the mess, but thats not as effective as I'd like it to be, are there any better alternatives, without having to shut my window (Their entry point) Then the heat would just annoy me instead.

Please everyone, help me out here, how do I get rid of the little blighters?!

Or replace the current one, as it's clearly not working.

Alternatively, invest in an army of frogs to station at the entrance point, and they'll keep the flies away.

You could grow some Venus Flytraps in your room.

Just grow a few in some pots on your windowsill and hopefully they'll attract and eat any flies before they become a nuisance.

However, if it was me I'd get a screen on my window, as it should keep out all manner of flying insects and bugs but still allow decent airflow.

Have I used one? It is my weapon of insect genocide! When it gets them it's like a little snap but the noise does differ from fly to fly. Bigger ones will sometimes give you more than one pop and then they'll slowly fry whilst you hold the button down.

I've heard that if you cover yourself in gasoline and set yourself on fire, flies will stay away from you. For a while, anyways.

Wheres the fun in getting one? Build your own. All you need is copper wire, a tennis racket, and a car battery!

Disclaimer:I do not actually advise this, but getting a normal one is fun and hilarious. particularly when someone (like me) touches it once to see what will happen, and then again, to see if the results are consistent.

Ah the advantages of living in Ireland's crappy weather. No insects around for a while yet to annoy me I agree, if you can get one of those electric racket things, they are awesome. I used one when I was visiting my aunt in Canada. Never really needed one myself, so I haven't bought one Happy hunting!
