Am I the only one anywhere who wants to pash megan fox play against my other console pals online? A majority of my mates are 360 guys and personally I'm a Sony bloke. So, if you both have the same game, why can't you verse cross console online? Surely it's the same game, and even if it had minor differences, they could make the multiplayer online? I find this so frustrating because it's hard to see who's better unless we go to each other's houses...and even then on COD4 we can only compare 4 at a time. Does anyone else feel the same way about cross console gaming? If so, why/why not? Why wouldn't it work? etc.

I guess they somehow think its better for business. You know... don't support your rival company...
If all your friends have 360's and you could buy one console or the other Microsoft wants to hold your friends hostage to get you to buy. And vice versa.

It would never work because the companies wouldn't agree to it. Although the idea is fantastic in theory and would be a great way for games to build up quite a large userbase for their online games, there would be too many competitive differences between the companies and talk of profits and similar sorts of things which would prevent things like this ever happening. Pity, it would be quite good.

I would rather avoid it. Most of my friends are 360 fanboys, and I'm sure there would be never ending insults if they were to beat me.

I would think the problem to make them is about the online structure with each company, but I am not fully sure.
for sure man. I am with you on this one.

You would have to have some consolidated platform though, instead of XBL or PSN you would have to create a 3rd meeting ground, something that is doubtful this gen.

Because the companies have both player hated on each others turf
There's too much history behind the two, they hate each other

Joining forces is the last thing they want, on both sides
