What event in a book, story, game or even your life shouldn't make you feel sad, but it does?

For me it's the subplot of the Newsvendor in Watchmen, who spends all his time talking to himself, and wanting to make friends, because he's alone, due to him losing his wife and the only person who is by his newsstand every day, ignores him until the end where they find one similarity between eachother before they die together. (I dont know how to hide spoilers so I'll leave how they die unknown, incase you haven't read the comic.) for some reason that made me feel sad...

What's wrong with that? It's a very sad part.

Personally I'd go for the Iron Giant's ending. After *SPOILER* he gets blown up, even though the end of the film shows that he's reassembling, I still couldn't stop crying. Poor young me.

Hmmmmm. Sadness is totally pansy ass. If you can't gut your own cat with your bare hands, how will you deal with real life?

When the Defiant got blown up by the Breen in DS9. I loved that little ship. The new one was never quite the same...

The moment in Batman Begins,
when Bruce Wayne's parents are shot...
for some reason that brought more tears to my eyes than it should have had.

by getting a dog instead?

OT: maybe because...I dunno,it was well written and successful at it's attempt to make the reader feel?

I ended up watching Twilight when I was on holiday due to my sister's obssession and the end of that actually made me quite sad.
Also, to make spoilers you do this:
(without the gap I put in), then your text or image or whatever, then
(again, without the gap)

Destroying GLaDOS. She may have been a homicidal AI out to kill me in a series of twisted trials, but she was a damn funny AI. Whether she was trying to be or not. Seemed like an awful waste of good hardware.

The ending to fallout 3
SPOILER: If you go into the chamber and type in the code. Seeing your person slowly die. And then the game explaining that life in the wasteland is still going to be hard to survive in. It's like you only helped, and your dead now.

The movie big fish...

Last 20 minutes just makes me feel upset and sad, yet i have NO idea why.
Jesus, I would have been in my mid-early twenties when I saw that and I bawled my eyes out. I don't know why either, I've seen a lot sadder films that have not effected me at all.

In fact off the top of my head as an adult I think that is the only film that has made me cry.

Spoilered it up, sorry dude; though in fairness, it's nothing to do with any film. It's from Deep Space Nine. Generally speaking I don't tend to anti-spoiler stuff from series that ended 10 years ago, though i've done it now.
