It shouldn't work as a game..

Whether you're collecting planets in a big ball, rapping your way through karate lessons, clicking a little plastic guitar, firing bees from your hands, 'slicing the pie right', or even just stomping on a mushroom as you chase a princess stolen by a dinosaur, there's no doubt that games open up many new worlds.

These are strange, mystical places and we love them dearly. We love pulling the heads from the shoulders of gods, and using flying disks to suck money from resource plants.

I can't help wondering though, are there any games that are just too bizarre? Did flinging monsters from your back in The Darkness turn you off? Would you rather eat a sack of rocks than join another line in Bejewelled? Does 'pay to grind' in an MMO set your teeth on edge?

What concept simply doesn't work for you, or what concept do you not quite 'get', or understand at all, but still love, despite its oddity or downright silliness?

Guitar Hero. I know a lot of people love it and all, but personally I just don't find it fun. Essentially all you're doing is tapping buttons to the rythm of a song, and I simply don't find it fun. If I want to listen to music I can listen to music while playing a REAL game, that actually has gameplay.

I get them, as they are fantasy, something that games should be. We've started striving for realism in a lot of the newer games, something that will eventually lead to the games becoming less fun.

I'm absolutely fine with whatever crazy idea developers can come up with, as long as they don't do a half-assed job of it.

I understand the animosity (to an extent) towards Guitar Hero. I started real guitar long before the first one came out (in fact, that's why I was bought it for Xmas) so it's never put my off anything, but the elitism at the game over a real instrument is a bit disconcerting.

I happen to like realism, so I obviously treasure that in a game. But the reason I like realism, is because realism is cool. It isn't really cool to pee, nor do your chores, so that wouldn't be something I'd like in a game. But dropping someone 'delicate' from a tall height, or blowing something up, IS fun, so naturally it should be used in games.

Exactly how much sense something makes, like the plot, or other 'well-if-you-think-about-it' things doesn't really matter as long as the gameplay is fun. And if it's utter and extremely unconventional and bizarre, I might even find it interesting.

I like everything, so long as it's good.

But what I can't abide, wether it's a game or not, are subscriptions. I could never, ever commit to a subscription. Why pay for something continuously even when you don't use it?
